          Policy on Partnerships in the Provision
                  of Environmental Information

Various Partnership Policy clauses commit NOAA to:
• Foster the growth of the enterprise as a whole
• Deliver information in standard forms using widely
    supported methods for ease of use / re-use
• Respect roles of commercial and academic sectors
• Engage in open consultation when making substantial
    changes to significant information services
• Review effectiveness of Policy every five years

                  What’s New?

• NOAA’s Partnerships Policy up for five-year review soon
• NOAA’s Science Advisory Board created Environmental
  Information Services Working Group (EISWG)
• NWS has had recent success in applying NOAA’s partnership
  policy through clarifying roles:
   – Support for “Special Events” (NWS Instruction 10-1806)
   – Support for Departments of Transportation
   – Will Tech Day lead to another one?
