              2012 VARSITY DRAGONS

“Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” - John
2012 Dragon Seniors
     Cody Bell- SS

Cody will be our starting shortstop after
having played a solid shortstop, winning the
job this summer. He is a hard- nosed,
aggressive player who has made the plays
defensively. Offensively, he will hit in the
middle of our lineup. He hit .296 as a junior
with 3 doubles and 9 runs batted in. We will
count heavily on his leadership. Cody was a
wide receiver on the CHS football team.

     Justin Berard-RHP

Justin will be one of our starting pitchers this
spring. He started eleven games as a junior
tying him for the most starts with Tyler Dailey
who has graduated. He relies on a good
moving fastball and an excellent change up
to get hitters out. He won 7 games against
only 1 loss as a junior with a 3.67 ERA. We
will need him to win some big games for us
this spring. He is a two- sport athlete who
     was a linebacker in football.
2012 Dragon Seniors
     Hunter Craig-LHP/OF

Hunter is a transfer student who has
excellent athletic ability. He has excellent
speed and has a good arm. He will start the
season as a middle reliever and will
compete for an outfield job. With his speed,
he may be an excellent candidate for center
field. Has a great attitude and works
extremely hard. Hunter was a wide out in

     Michael Druhan-P/1B/OF

Michael is a very versatile athlete who had a
good junior year offensively, when he
hit .357 with 4 doubles, one home run and
19 RBI’s. He has power to all fields and will
be called upon to drive in some big runs for
us this spring. He will play a lot of Right
Field and will pitch as well. He possesses a
strong arm with good movement and a good
breaking ball. Has signed a baseball
scholarship to play at Meridian Mississippi
     Junior College.
2012 Dragon Seniors
     Kevin Hall- C/1B

Kevin is a two-sport athlete who can literally
play any position on the field. Possesses
good speed, good arm and great hands. He
is a very aggressive player that can run
extremely well. He will hit in the three spot in
our line up and will be a very important part
of our offense. He and Zach Wylie will split
catching responsibilities and each will also
play first base. Kevin hit .398 with, 16 2B’s,
and 6 Home Runs last year as a junior. He
has signed a scholarship to play at Meridian
     Mississippi Junior College.

     Kellon Hibbard-RHP

Kellon will be our closer out of the bullpen,
where he excelled last year as a junior. He
was 1-1 with 5 saves for us last year. He led
the team with an earned run average of
1.50 . He was very reliable as a closer and
we expect great things from him this spring
as well. His submarine delivery is his forte
and creates havoc for opponents. Kellon has
committed to play at Meridian JC.
2012 Dragon Seniors
     Cayson Ransom-3B

Cayson is our returning third baseman and
will open the season at that position again.
He does an excellent job defensively and is
a consistent performer. He is an excellent
hitter who really hits the ball well to the
opposite field. As a junior he batted .426
     with 2 2B’s, 2 3B’s and 19 RBI’s , while
scoring 46 runs in 38 games.

     Stephen Salamon-LHP

Stephen will be one of our starting pitchers
this spring. He had an excellent spring and
summer for the Dragons in 2011. He was 3-1
with a 1.95 ERA in the spring. In 29 innings
he only allowed 8 earned runs while striking
out 45 batters and walking only 9. We expect
Stephen to have a great senior season on the
2012 Dragon Seniors
     Grant Smith-RHP/INF

Grant is one of our most versatile athletes.
He will be one of our starting pitchers, as he
is coming off a great summer on the mound.
He can play any infield position and will see
plenty of time at 2nd base. Offensively he will
be someone who we will ask to play “small
ball”. He will hit behind runner, bunt for hits,
steal bases and score runs. Grant excelled in
football where he was a quarterback, wide
receiver and probably the best field goal kick-
er in the western part of the state. He won
the Dragons a few games with last second
     field goals.

     Zach Wylie-C/1B

Zach will catch and play first base this spring
for the Dragons. He is an excellent receiver
who throws well and knows the game. He is
a silent leader who loves to win. Offensively
he is at his best when he is hitting the ball to
the biggest part of the park, using all fields.
He hit .321 with 6 doubles and one home run
as a junior. We expect Zach to have a great
     senior season.
