                                Job Description
Job purpose:

Contribute to sustaining and growing Skills for Justice Group by identifying, writing
and submitting proposals that secure funding for work within the group’s remit

Key accountabilities:

1   Analyse potential funding streams and identify a diverse range of funding sources
    to support growth in line with our strategic vision

2   Conduct analysis of bid requirements and identify fit against organisational
    competencies and areas of expertise

3   Rapidly establish cross-organisational teams with the expertise required to
    respond to relevant bid opportunities

4   Scope, write and submit Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), Expressions
    of Interest and high quality bids and tenders to specified timeframes, quality
    standards and required criteria to meet agreed conversion targets

5   Provide advice, guidance and support to colleagues across the business to
    develop capacity and capability across the business to develop winning

6   Coordinate bidding activity across the organisation to provide a corporate record
    of all bidding activity and outcomes to support continuous improvement

7   Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of procurement legislation and
    best practice to inform the development of winning proposals and minimise risk

8   Seek feedback from funders about successful and unsuccessful bids and use this
    to improve future organisational practice

9   Develop and maintain end-to-end bidding and tendering systems and processes

10 Develop and maintain a resource bank of bidding information and sample bids,
   including a corporate CV

1   Excellent technical writing skills and a proven track record of success in PQQs,
    bids and tenders through the full bidding life cycle

2   Understanding and demonstrated experience of Official Journal of the European
    Union (OJEU) procurement processes for European bidding

3   Commercial and financial awareness and experience of costing proposals and
    demonstrating added value

4   Analytical skills and the ability to develop new and innovative ideas taking into
    account existing knowledge and learning from experience

5   Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and develop relationships
    with colleagues and other stakeholders both internally and externally

6   Strong influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to gain agreement and
    commitment from others

7   Strong initiative and organisational skills with the ability to deliver a diverse and
    demanding work programme to time, cost and quality

8   Excellent communication, presentation and proof reading skills with good
    attention to detail

9   Competent IT user experienced in the use of Microsoft Office 2003 or above

10 Understanding of and commitment to equality and valuing diversity
