way for him/her to contribute to your outreach efforts.

PSA scripts may be typed double-spaced and in capital letters on a separate sheet of paper, as in
the example below. Additional PSA scripts are provided below.

The suggested text may also be incorporated into other materials you may be creating. Feel free

30-second Announcement:
Hospice and palliative care professionals and volunteers understand that every person they care
for is a unique individual with a lifetime of experiences, relationships and gifts to share. By

30-second Announcement:
Staying at home, surrounded by family and friends, free of pain with your illness under control,
support for your family caregivers. That’s what most Americans want at life’s end. Hospice
makes it happen. The hospice team provides expert medical care as well as emotional and
spiritual support for the entire family. With the help of hospice, patients and families alike can
focus on what’s most important – enjoying life together and living as fully as possible. For more

30-second Announcement:
Just because you’re facing a life-limiting illness doesn’t mean you’re less of a person. But
navigating the confusing world of healthcare can make it seem that way. Hospice and palliative
care professionals will take the time to help you understand your illness and what options may
be available. They ask you what’s important – and they listen to what you say. To learn more
about available services, please contact [organization, phone #, Web site].

45-second Announcement
Coping with a terminal illness can be overwhelming—most people don’t know where to turn for
help. Fortunately, high quality care and support that provide patients and their families with
hope, love and dignity at the end of life is available. And it’s covered by Medicare and most
private insurance plans. It’s called hospice. Last year, hospice helped more than 1.6 million
Americans live fully up until the end of life.

Hospice professionals and trained volunteers take the time to ask what’s important to you, and
they listen to what you say. Find out if hospice is right for you and your family, contact:
[organization, phone #, Web site].
