They should continue from year to year. Both the lawyers and students benefit
from this program.
IV. DU Hockey Strikes for Scholarships - $5000-$6000 was generated for the
scholarship fund, numbers are still coming in. 1/3 students and 2/3 community
members attended. Everyone had a great time for a good cause.
V. DU Liaison - Alan Frosh passed the baton to Maureen “Mo” Weiland as DU
YLD Liaison. She was an organizer for the PILG auction. As such she has great
experience. If you have ever attended a PILG auction you would know that it is a
very impressive event. There was continued discussion about making law student
bar membership automatic with an “opt out” provision. Tom Trunnell suggested
that the internet program “Constant Contact” has a great opt out application.

Association - April 23, 2011 70 attorneys attended and was a great success.

Justice team could benefit from YLD assistance. $35 registration. Leia sending
information to Joe.
IX. Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans - a great program proposed to the YLD by
Chuck Turner through Becky Bye. 2 DU students with PILG are veterans and
would be interested in helping. We need to go over the Texas materials and see
how we can materialize this program in Colorado! Becky to follow up with
X. Fundraiser – Friday June 3 at Moye White. Mike Paul got his first donation
already. Try to get your calls made asap. It is only 14-18 calls. Leia and Carlos
will generate beer and wine, do so on your own if you have contacts for that.
