                  TOURNAMENT RULES
                                                  TH
    1. ENTRY CLOSE DATE IS FRIDAY OCTOBER 26 , 2012. NO REFUNDS WILL
       BE GIVEN ONCE A TEAM IS NOTIFIED IT IS ACCEPTED.

    2. USA HOCKEY RULES WILL APPLY TO ALL PLAY EXCEPT AS NOTED HEREIN.

    3. ANY FIGHTING, A GAME MISCONDUCT FOR 5 PENALTIES IN ONE GAME, A
       GAME MISCONDUCT FOR 15 PENALTIES IN ONE GAME, OR MATCH
       PENALTY WILL RESULT IN A TOURNAMENT SUSPENSION FOR THE
       OFFENDING PLAYER OR COACH. SEE RULE 613 – FISTICUFFS (FIGHTING
       IN THE USA HOCKEY 2012 - 2014 OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILED
       INFORMATION).

    4. TOURNAMENT IS OPEN TO USA HOCKEY REGISTERED TEAMS AND THE
       EQUIVELANT IN CANADA. TEAMS THAT ALSO PLAY IN A NON USA HOCKEY
       LEAGUE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. TEAM SELECTION FOR THE
       TOURNAMENT IS DETERMINED BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS AND
       THEIR DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

    5. THE DIVISIONS WILL BE MAJOR SQUIRT A, MAJOR SQUIRT B (SEE RULE 5),
       MAJOR PEEWEE A, MAJOR PEEWEE B, MAJOR BANTAM A, MAJOR BANTAM
       B, MIDGET MINOR 16U A, AND MIDGET MAJOR 18U A (NO PLAYER OVER
       1993 BIRTH YEAR). SQUIRT B DIVISION WILL HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 20
       TEAMS AND ALL OTHER DIVISIONS WILL HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 12 TEAMS.

    6. THE SQUIRT B DIVISION WILL BE DIVIDED INTO 2 DIVISIONS – GOLD
       (TEAMS REGISTERED AS SQUIRT B) AND SILVER (TEAMS REGISTERED AS
       SQUIRT C). THE GOLD AND SILVER DIVISIONS WILL EACH HAVE THEIR
       OWN CHAMPIONSHIP.

    7. ALL TEAMS MAY PLAY GAMES DURING THE DAY ON ANY DAY DURING THE
       TOURNAMENT.

    8. COST OF TOURNAMENT:
            SQUIRT A AND B - $1,250.00;
            PEEWEE A AND B - $1,250.00;
            BANTAM A AND B - $1,250.00;
            MIDGET MINOR 16U A - $1,350.00;
            MIDGET MAJOR 18U A - $1,350.00.

    9. NO ADMISSION FEE FOR SPECTATORS

    10. ANY ARTICLES (EXCEPT HATS FOR HAT TRICKS) THROWN ON THE ICE OR
        ABUSIVE CONDUCT BY SPECTATORS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE
        EJECTION FROM THE ARENA AND THE TOURNAMENT. FAILURE TO
        COMPLY WILL RESULT IN THE OFFENDING TEAM FORFEITING THE GAME.

    11. THE REFEREES AND TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS DECISIONS ARE FINAL.
        NO PROTESTS ARE ALLOWED.

    12. MOUTH GUARDS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL PLAYERS. CANADIAN TEAMS
        WILL HAVE THEIR PLAYERS WEAR NECK GUARDS IN LIEU OF MOUTH
        GUARDS.

    13. IF A PLAYER IS INJURED AND PLAY STOPPED, THE INJURED PLAYER MUST
        LEAVE THE ICE UNTIL THE COMPLETION OF THE ENSUING FACE-OFF.

    14. COMPLETE TEAM CREDENTIALS ARE REQUIRED. INCOMPLETE TEAM
        BOOKS OR NOT HAVING YOUR TEAM BOOK AT A GAME WILL BE A FORFEIT
        OF GAME TO BE PLAYED.

    15. THE HEAD COACH OR THE TEAM MANAGER MUST CHECK IN WITH A
        TOURNAMENT OFFICIAL ONE (1) HOUR PRIOR TO THEIR FIRST GAME WITH
        THEIR CREDENTIALS BOOK. CREDENTIAL BOOK WILL INCLUDE: RMRSS
        REGISTRATION, RMRSS TEAM ROSTER AND USA HOCKEY TEAM
        REGISTRATION/ROSTER. (USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION/ROSTER PAPERS
        MUST BE SIGNED BY REGISTRAR OR WILL BE CONSIDERED VOID).

    16. POINTSTREAK SCORING SYSTEM WILL BE USED FOR ALL GAMES AND
        UPLOADED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE COMPLETION OF THE GAMES.
        TEAMS MUST PROVIDE THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS WITH THE JERSEY
        NUMBERS OF ALL PLAYERS AND DESIGNATE GOALIES NO LATER THAN
                         TH,
        FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9 2012.

    17. PLAYERS SHOULD BE AT THE ARENA ONE (1) HOUR PRIOR TO GAME TIME
        AND READY TO GO ON THE ICE AT SCHEDULED TIME FOR THE 3-MINUTE
        WARM-UP.

    18. ALL TEAMS MUST HAVE A HOME (WHITE) AND AN AWAY (DARK) SET OF
        JERSEYS. THE HOME TEAM WILL WEAR WHITE. PLEASE BRING BOTH
        JERSEYS TO ALL GAMES IN CASE OF CHANGES.

    19. TOURNAMENT WILL BE A FOUR (4) GAME TOTAL POINTS RANKING.
        POINTS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: 2-WIN, 1-TIE, AND 0-LOSS.

    20. GAMES WILL HAVE A 3 MINUTE WARM UP. GAME TIMES ARE STOP CLOCK
        (EXCEPT AS NOTED BELOW) AND WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
              SQUIRT A AND B                            3, 12-MINUTE PERIODS
              PEEWEE A AND B                            3, 12-MINUTE PERIODS
              BANTAM A AND B                            3, 12-MINUTE PERIODS
              MIDGET MINOR 16U                         3, 14-MINUTE PERIODS
              MIDGET MAJOR 18U                         3, 14-MINUTE PERIODS

       IF THERE IS A 4-GOAL OR MORE DIFFERENTIAL IN THE THIRD PERIOD THE
       CLOCK WILL BECOME RUN TIME. THERE WILL BE NO RUN TIME IN THE
       SEMIFINALS AND CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES.

    21. THERE IS NO OVERTIME EXCEPT IN SEMIFINALS AND CHAMPIONSHIP
        GAMES.

    22. AFTER ONE (1) OVERTIME PERIOD THERE WILL BE A SHOOTOUT. ALL
        GAMES ARE ON CURFEW.

    23. OVERTIME WILL BE SUDDEN DEATH. OVERTIME WILL BE A 5-MINUTE STOP
        CLOCK PERIOD. IF THE TEAMS REMAIN TIED AT THE END OF OVERTIME,
        GAMES WILL PROCEED TO A SHOOTOUT. SHOOTOUTS WILL CONSIST OF
        5 PLAYERS AND A GOALTENDER FROM EACH TEAM. THE 5 PLAYERS WILL
        BE ON THE ICE AND THE WRITTEN ORDER PRESENTED BY THE COACH TO
        THE REFEREE. THE TEAM WITH THE MOST GOALS AFTER 5 SHOTS WILL

       BE DECLARED THE WINNER.     IF STILL TIED, THE SHOOTOUT WILL
       CONTINUE USING AN ADDITIONAL SKATER FROM EACH TEAM UNTIL A
       WINNER IS DETERMINED. IF ALL PLAYERS ON ONE TEAM HAVE SHOT,
       THEN BOTH TEAMS CAN USE PLAYERS THAT HAVE PREVIOUSLY SHOT.


    24. METHOD FOR DETERMINING CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY:
     a. THE FOUR TEAMS WITH THE HIGHEST POINTS OR PERCENTAGE WILL
        ADVANCE TO THE SEMI-FINALS.
     b. FORFEITS ARE COUNTED AS A 1 – 0 WIN FOR THE NON-OFFENDING
        TEAM.
     c. TIE BREAKERS IF TWO OR MORE TEAMS ARE TIED IN TOTAL POINTS:
        1. HEAD TO HEAD IF ALL TIED TEAMS HAVE PLAYED EACH OTHER.
        2. GOALS FOR DIVIDED BY THE TOTAL OF GOALS FOR AND GOALS
            AGAINST. HIGHEST PERCENTAGE ADVANCES.
        3. FASTEST GOAL SCORED IN THE FIRST GAME OF THE TOURNAMENT.
        4. THE LEAST AMOUNT OF PENALTY MINUTES INCLUDING
            MISCONDUCTS.
        5. A FLIP OF A COIN BETWEEN 2 TEAMS. THE CHOICE OF HEADS OR
            TAILS  WILL   BE   CALLED   BY   THE   ASSOCIATION   NAME
            ALPHABETICALLY. IF MORE THAN 2 TEAMS ARE TIED, NUMBERS
            WILL BE DRAWN IN AN ALPHABETICAL ORDER BY ASSOCIATION
            NAME.

    25. ALL 1ST PLACE TEAMS WILL RECEIVE A TEAM TROPHY, THE
        CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER, CHAMPION PINS, AND THE INVITATION TO THE
        FINALS. 2ND PLACE TEAMS WILL RECEIVE A TEAM TROPHY AND AN
        INVITATION TO THE FINALS IF THE CHAMPION DECLINES THE INVITATION.
        TEAMS THAT DECLINE AN INVITATION TO THE FINALS, MAY NOT BE
        ACCEPTED TO THE TOURNAMENT THE FOLLOWING YEAR. ALL PLAYERS
        AND COACHES WILL RECEIVE A PARTICIPATION PIN FOR PLAYING IN THE
        TOURNAMENT.

    26. ALL TEAMS MUST FURNISH THEIR OWN PENALTY BOX ATTENDENT (MUST
        BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER).

    27. SHOULD ANY PLAYER OR TEAM WILLFULLY DAMAGE ANY PROPERTY IN
        THE ICE CENTRE FACILITY, ALL COSTS FOR REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENT
        SHALL BE PAID BY THE TEAM CONCERNED. ARRANGEMENTS FOR
        RESTITUTION SHALL BE MADE IMMEDIATELY WITH THE RINK
        MANAGEMENT. NOTICE OF SUCH DAMAGE WILL BE GIVEN TO THE
        TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS TO DETERMINIE IF REMOVAL OF PLAYER AND
        /OR TEAM FROM THE TOURNAMENT IS APPROPRIATE. ANY PROFANITY
        OR ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR TOWARDS RINK PERSONNEL WILL RESULT IN AN
        IMMEDIATE EJECTION FROM THE RINK AND THE TOURNAMENT.

    28. THE TOURNAMENT STAFF HAS THE RIGHT TO CHANGE A GAME TIME OR
        RINK ASSIGNMENT IF CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND THEIR CONTROL OCCUR
        (I.E. – WEATHER, LOSS OF THE AVAILABILITY OF THE RINK, LOSS OF
        POWER, ETC.)
