GEPA REQUIREMENTS, SECTION 427
Describe the steps the agency proposes to take to ensure equitable access to, and participation in, your
programs supported with these funds for students, teachers, and other program beneficiaries with special
needs. There are six barriers that can impede equitable access or participation: gender, race, national origin,
color, disability, or age. Based on local circumstances, determine whether these or other barriers may
prevent your students, teachers, or other program beneficiaries from such access or participation in, this
Federally-funded project or activity. The description of steps to be taken to overcome these barriers need
not be lengthy. Provide a clear and succinct description of how you plan to address those barriers that are
applicable to your circumstances. This description may be provided separately, or you may integrate it in
your Project Narrative.
