Audio and Voice Recording
Policy
Policy Aim
The aim of the policy is to make staff aware of College policy regarding the
recording and storing of audio and voice recording.
The North West Regional College does not condone the use of audio or voice
recording during any events involved in the normal business of the College,
including meetings, hearings or training events. However, in exceptional
circumstances with the express permission of all parties, audio or voice
recording is permissible.
The North West Regional College does not permit the making and storing of
audio or voice recording without the express permission of the parties
involved. Prior to making an audio or voice recording, permission should be
sought and recorded. If an individual makes and/or stores audio or voice
recordings without the express permission of all parties, or if an attempt is
made to record and/or store audio or voice recordings without the express
permission of all parties, this will be deemed as an act of gross misconduct.
Recording is the physical act of making a recording.
Storage is the storage of any recording held on any specific medium whether
college owned or private.
The College is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and good
relations in accordance with Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. This
policy should be interpreted in a manner consistent with the aforementioned
legislation.
The College will provide this policy in alternative formats on request where
reasonably practicable, eg, Braille, Large Print, Computer Disk, Audio
Cassette, etc, and/or alternative language.
