LIBRARY SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE – Windsor Public Library
Temporary full-time, 35 hours/week position to April 30, 2010 (this position may be terminated within 2 weeks)
Reports to a Manager of Public Services
Perform all circulation functions including resolving overdue complaints, collection maintenance, reports, cash
reconciliation, banking, processing holds;
Assist customers with reference and readers’ advisory;
Assist customers with online databases and other reference materials;
Plan and implement programmes including children’s story times;
Train, supervise and participate in hiring of Pages including implementation and verification of schedules;
Participate in establishing and developing partnerships with the community;
Provides troubleshooting for hardware and software issues;
Monitor and request supplies;
May supervise volunteers as required;
Secure the property including locking and unlocking library buildings;
Other related duties as assigned.
University graduate with a broad academic background;
Demonstrated excellent public service and customer relation skills for working with people of all ages;
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and organizational skills;
Responds willingly to flexibility in assignment and changing tasks in a team environment;
Proficient keyboarding and knowledge of Microsoft Office products;
A valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license and use of an automobile an asset;
Ability to work in all locations as service/scheduling demands dictate;
Fluency in a language or languages reflecting the cultural diversity of Windsor is an asset;
Hours include evening and Saturday shifts;
A current Police Records Check is required.
Hourly wage rate: $19.60 – 22.38 – 24.23 (Group 7)
