    MOS 7502 EWTGLANT JOING TERMINAL ATTACK CONTROLLER SCREENING CHECKLIST

Per the USMC Tactical Air Control Party Training and Readiness Manual (NAVMC 3500.42A),
Prospective JTAC candidates attending the EWTGLANT TACP Course must meet the following pre-
requisites prior to course commencement. See attached templates for waiver process if required.

Completion of all pre-requisites shall be endorsed by sending MAG PSD Commanding Officer.


   □ A minimum of 2 years of operational flying experience (post flight school) per TACP T&R Manual
       (NAVMC 3500.42a).


   □ A minimum of SECRET Security Clearance is required.
   □ Required Readings for Introductory Exam.
               o JP 3-09.3 Close Air Support (08 Jul 09) – Chapter 5
               o MAWTS-1 TACP TACSOP (02 Mar 12) – Chapters 2 and 3


   □ Section A: MarineNet Distance Learning JTAC Primer Course (11 on-line Modules).
             o How to enroll: Log on and register on https://www.marinenet.usmc.mil/portal/ ,
             then browse "Course Catalog", Select "Functional Specialty Training Course", Select
             "Supporting Arms", Select “Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Primer Curriculum”,
             click “Enroll”, then click “Enroll” again.
             o Distance Learning certificates will be collected on day one of the course

Waiver process: For all Marines, the waiver authority for TACP T&R Manual (NAVMC 3500.42a) pre-
requisites is the Commanding General, Training and Education Command (TECOM). Route the
following request via MAG PSD, MAW G3, MEF G3, TECOM G3. Route requests via official message
traffic.

4. (ELABORATE ON CANDIDATE’S FIRES INTEGRATION/CAS EXPERIENCE AND MITIGATING
CIRCUMSTANCES) EXAMPLE: CAPT JOHN DOE WILL HAVE 19 MONTHS OF OPERATIONAL FLYING
EXPERIENCE UPON CHECKING INTO HIS BATTALION. HE HAS SHOWN MATURITY AND EXCELLENT
KNOWLEDGE BASE AS AN AH-1W PILOT WITH PARTICIPATION IN MULITPLE ENHANCED MOJAVE VIPER
EXERCISES AND SQUADRON LEVEL DEPLOYMENT FOR TRAINING EVENTS. ADDITIONALLY HE HAS
ADVANCED THROUGH THE AH-1 T&R SYLLABUS WITH EASE, WHICH HAS A LARGE FOCUS ON CLOSE
AIR SUPPORT. THROUGH TRAINING EXERCISES, CAPT DOE HAS FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE WORKING
WITH JTACS AND FACS FROM US AIR FORCE, US MARINE CORPS, AND INTERNATIONAL MILITARIES IN
CONCERT WITH BOTH FIXED AND ROTARY WING ASSETS. CAPT DOE WILL BE DESIGNATED AN ATTACK
HELICOPTER COMMANDER PRIOR TO JOINING HIS BATTALION.
