Hurricane Sandy Relief On October 29, 2012, Hurricane Sandy made her way north and left a path of destruction in its wake. Because of the high winds and floods that the storm brought, local fire fighters were left stranded and the New York City Fire Department was unable to respond to a fire which destroyed over 100 homes. The town of Breezy Point, Queens, NY has been left, like many other ocean side towns, rebuilding after a storm that devastated many lives. The Bunker Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association is currently accepting donations for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The following items will be accepted: Work Gloves Batteries/Flashlights Black Contractor Bags Mops/Brooms Bleach Canned Goods/Non-Perishable Items Diapers/Wipes Toiletries Paper Towels Blankets With the holidays coming up, Gift cards are also appreciated for families and children. Please drop any donated items to Station 855 located at 3716 Rhode Island Ave., Brentwood, MD 20722. If you have questions or concerns please contact Mr. Davis at 240-380-7247.
