          Harvest Picnic at Werribee Park offers family fun and scrumptious delights
The Age Harvest Picnic at Werribee Park is a day of sensory delight with an array of gourmet produce on offer and
fun for young and old. From feasting on food and wine from local producers, watching cooking demonstrations by
celebrated Australian chefs, or enjoying live entertainment, there is something for everyone. So pack the picnic
basket and head to the stunning surrounds of Werribee Park from 9am to 5pm on Sunday 27 November 2011.

Artisan cheeses, mouth-watering desserts, regional wines and ciders, and homemade preserves will await and there
will be plenty to sample and purchase. With Christmas around the corner, the Harvest Picnic provides the perfect
opportunity to stock up on goodies for friends and family.

Throughout the day the Neff Cooking Demonstration Marquee will feature some of Australia’s leading chefs who will
prepare delicious meals, and showcase different cuisines and techniques to try at home. Celebrated chefs appearing
at the picnic include Shane Delia, owner and Executive Chef at Maha Bar and Grill and St Katherine’s; Jo Richardson,
Kitchen Aid’s Home Economist; and the Executive Chef at Joseph’s Restaurant at The Mansion Hotel and Spa at
Werribee Park.

An exciting new event - The Kid’s Cupcake Competition - will take place encouraging young foodies to put their
cooking skills to the test. The competition is open to all children from four to fifteen years of age and entrants must
submit four cupcakes they have baked and decorated themselves. A panel will then judge the best cupcakes and
award prizes.

Back by popular demand, the Cherry Pip Competition celebrates the launch of the Victorian cherry season. The
competition gives visitors the chance to see how far they can launch their pip with winners taking home some
fabulous prizes.

Live entertainment will add to the excitement of the day with performances from 100% Kylie, a Kylie Minogue
tribute band, which will have you dancing The Locomotion like a pro. The B# Big Band, a ten piece Swing
instrumental group and Latin American band, Combo la Revelacion will liven things up with plenty of rhythmic

From this year, corporate hospitality packages are available giving businesses the opportunity to host their Christmas
function in a private marquee amidst the attractions of the Harvest Picnic. The hospitality packages are flexible and
range from picnic hampers to a sit down function.

Tickets for the Harvest Picnic can be purchased online and cost $20 for adults, $15 for concession and groups
bookings, and children under 15 are free. Corporate packages are also detailed on the website.

Admission covers entry to The Age Harvest Picnic at Werribee Park, Werribee Mansion, Victoria’s State Rose
Garden, the Neff Cooking Demonstration Marquee, live music on stage, children’s activities, car parking, a visitor's
program, and a copy of The Sunday Age.
