Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are pleased to present the Generation Forum 2000 motto:
Electronic Finance.
Bringing together Senior Chief Executives and Young Potentials annually during
one weekend in September, Generation Forum creates a stage on which these
experienced seniors and professional juniors in financial sectors can exchange
their ideas, thoughts, and experiences and can discover the other generation’s
perspectives by entering into a dialogue with one another.
The Generation Forum 2000 on September 8 and 9 offers the two generations
of managers from the financial services sector in Europe the chance to gather and
discuss their opinions and experiences in the context of the symposium’s general
motto “Electronic Finance”. Anticipated are the future leaders of the industry, the
“digital generation”, represented by those aged thirty-five (and less), and those in
charge today, the chief executives, including central bankers and officials from
regulatory bodies. This year, Generation Forum will present the following subject
matters of extreme importance for those operating in financial markets today:
Lessons from the Financial Crises of the Last Decade
International Financial Markets and Macrostability
The Future Role of Banking and Insurance
Internet and Money Laundering
Will Electronic Finance Require Banks at All?
How to Avoid Obstacles in Internet-Banking
Investment Banking, e-Commerce, and Capital Markets
We wish the atmosphere to be friendly and relaxed throughout the event yet
provocative in such a way that these two generations will communicate and openly
discuss their challenges, aspirations, ambitions, and difficulties.
With best regards,
Center for Financial Studies
Karl Otto Pöhl Ernst Welteke
