Problems like 2x 2  3x  5   4x 2  7 x  1 and  3x 2  5x  1   5x 2  8x  3 can
be carried out using the distributive property. Just image that there are 1's in front of the
parentheses and then just carry out the distributions. Let us look at the second problem
now, with the 1's in their place:

                                 
1  3x 2  5x  1  1  5x 2  8x  3




Distributing we get from the first polynomial: 1 3x 2  5x  1  3x 2  5x  1 .




From the second polynomial we get:  1 5x 2  8x  3  5x 2  8x  3 .


I suggest that you present the problem like
