Mrs Nicki Cutress Clerk to the Council
No apologies were received.
Five members of the public attended.
The Chairman opened the meeting and thanked all for attending.
The Minutes of the previous meeting had been circulated. These were agreed and
signed as a true record by the Chairman.
2. Matters Arising
(a) Hippo Bags
Three bags have been delivered. They will be replenished if necessary and empty
bags will be collected in the Spring.
3. Planning Applications
(a) Royal Oak – erection of Marquee – no objections were raised
(b) Oak and Stream Cottages – reduce trees by 2 metres – passed by MSDC
There were no receipts or expenditure for November and December 2010.
5. Precept for 2011/2012
The Clerk had circulated the expected budget for 2010/2011 and projected budget
for 2011/2012 to all councillors. It was proposed by CW and seconded by MJ that
the Parish request a 3% increase – to keep track with inflation.
6. Any Other Business
SM was having trouble getting the newsletter printed. CW had been doing this but
his printer has now died and ink for his new printer would make it prohibitive. ML is
to speak to the printers at Manor Farm. 300 copies twice a year.
(b) Peter Griffiths
Urged us all to continue to report pot holes to WSCC or via fixmystreet website.
Rural Broadband is making progress slowly but surely via BT.
Planning within the National Park. Anyone interested in putting in a planning
application was urged to do it before 1st April when National Park status comes into
Winter Maintenance Plan – he was pleased that he had claimed our free hippo bags.
(c) Highway Rangers
The Clerk is to ask them to clear the Causeway. Also they have been parking on
Cora’s Corner and have damaged some of the kerb stones. The Clerk is to follow this
up with WSCC.
(d) Joint Parish Council
The next meeting is to be hosted by Albourne PC in February. It is hoped that a
member of the National Park Committee will be present.
(e) Old Folks Christmas Do
Huge thanks to Tara and her band of willing helpers for organising another great
evening for the old folks. Thanks to the Royal Oak for hosting it. It was agreed
that the Parish Council would continue to pay £300 towards the cost.
The Clerk had distributed leaflets around the village asking for donations. ML was to
speak to Andy to see whether he would like a buffet at the Royal Oak with all
villagers invited or a quiet meal for him and his family.
(g) Pond Bey
MJ had reported that a building had been put up at Pond Bey without permission
being sought. Retrospective plans were expected to follow in due course.
(h) Causeway at Pond Bey
The Clerk was asked to contact WSCC Highways regarding the state of the path and
fencing at the bottom Kissing Gate by Pond Bey.
7. Date of Next meeting
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on 1st March at 7pm.
The Chairman thanked everyone for attending and closed the meeting at 8.30pm.
