Background Information:
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ministries in collaboration with Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine
and the Innovative Vector Control Consortium have launched a new venture to significantly improve
the control of major infectious diseases. This includes the implementation of Disease Decision
Support Systems for vector control. To successfully develop this, an audit of the current systems is

This is a full-time post for 12 months, and the post holder will be based in Saudi Arabia and will be
required to work closely with collaborators at the Ministry of Health and other partner institutions in
the USA. You will be reporting directly to Dr Mike Coleman (LSTM, Liverpool, UK) on all aspects of
the work.
You will work within a multi-disciplinary team comprising epidemiologist’s, clinical researchers, and
other academics as well as public health staff involved in dengue vector control in the field.

The candidate will work full-time on the project. The work required can be summarized as follows:

       Obtain pertinent historical data from national and local public health on dengue

       Prepare collated data for statistical analysis and import into a data management system

       Contribute as an active team member within the dengue programme

       Monitor and timetable your research to meet the project deadlines

    Where appropriate, lead or contribute to the publication of research findings from this work in
open access journals
   Present the research findings at selected international conferences

   Prioritization of own work on a day to day basis against pre-set deadlines

   Responsible for working in a safe manner adhering to local and legal requirements

   Carry out other duties applicable to the level of the role
