SM res.July 1
Gen.TS july 9
Directed by Lynn Hammett
Written by Richard Alfieri
July 19 through July 29
In roles originated by Uta Hagen and David Hyde Pierce, this two-character comedy opens as a aging but still formidable woman
hires an acerbic dance instructor to give her lessons in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. Antagonism between a gay man and the
widow of a Southern Baptist minister gives way to profound compatibility as they swing dance, tango, foxtrot and cha-cha while
sharing more than dance steps. During the sixth and final lesson, she reveals a closely guarded secret and he shares his greatest
gifts-loyalty and compassion. As Michael takes Lily in his arms on the final meeting, they both transcend fear and mortality
while the sun sets on their last dance.

GI Jukebox Coming in September!
Directed by Pat Shull
Written by Rick Lewis
Sept 13 through Sept 30
GI Jukebox is the 1940′s musical revue by Rick Lewis during WWII where Hollywood stars and
starlets made it their duty to entertain “the boys.” It is a night at the “Stage Door Canteen” filled
with some of the best music of the twentieth century. The show mimics four performers
entertaining troops wearing period uniforms in this U.S.O. styled show. It is a time to go back
and remember, or to imagine a time when the world was at war, and joy and comfort came
through the music and whole different brand of humor. Era-appropriate tunes and medleys are
crooned, warbled, or lilted, with a live musical ensemble. spanning big band, swing and
Latin…it’s a musical retrospective of an America we’ll never see again!
Summer Camp 2012
Our summer camp has begun and will take place until June 22. The registered students star in the play "Honk", a musical
adapted from the Hans Christian Andersen story, The Ugly Duckling. Jamie Hawkins of Project Challenge is directing
the play. Our young participants are thoroughly enthused about being at Electric City Playhouse playing a character
in "Honk". The play will be performed for family and friends at the end of the camp session. If you missed the 2012
camp session, this is an annual event and will be repeated next June!
