Physics Mini Project

							                    Physics Mini Project
Task:
   Choose a topic that you are personally interested in that is
     connected in some way to Physics.
   Decide what aspect of this topic you want to TEACH to your
     fellows and make a plan.

Required Elements:
        A research paper, 2-3 pages, complete with citations
          within the text of your writing, and MLA formatting of
          citations and bibliography.
        A visual aid to assist understanding of concept being
          taught. This could be a poster, PowerPoint or other
          computer presentation etc.
        An Interactive class activity which will help students learn
          the concept you are teaching.
        Class presentation 10-15 minutes in duration. You will be
          timed, so be concise and prepared.

Extra Credit:
   An assessment of student’s understanding of topic can be given
     and results analyzed with plan for improvement. The assessment
     can be a performance assessment or other more traditional
     assessment. The results along with a PDSA form can be turned
     in after presentation is made.

An example of a performance assessment is:

   When I taught kinetic theory to Chemistry, I put a drop of food
    coloring in a flask with hot water and also in a flask of cold
    water. I asked the class to observe and explain what happened
    in terms of kinetic theory. This gave me a good indication if they
    understood the concept of particles in motion, and heated water
    particles having more KE than cold, thereby dispersing the food
    coloring faster.

   Creating a newspaper, brochure, writing a poem, creating a
    chant etc.
