1.0 Purpose
This procedure describes the activities to be undertaken during the design phase of a
project.
During this phase the user will:
 Determine how to treat the tasks defined during the Analysis phase and define it in
          the Comprehensive Design document.
 State the resources (software, hardware, skilled personnel, others) required to
          implement the project.

2.0 Scope
This procedure is applicable to all projects in Hurix that require Instructional Design
input. It does not include projects based on the creation of Digital Supplements.

5.0 Procedure
    5. 1 Provide technical input during the Design phase
5.1.1 It is the responsibility of the VP to:
 Discuss the technical feasibility of the course design suggested by
the LID and suggest alternate approaches.
 Review the ID strategy for technical feasibility.
This stage is optional; it will depend on how the project is delivered and the
development tools received/expected from the client. The outcome of this
meeting must be documented. Refer to the MOM document.

    5. 2 Provide graphics input during the Design phase
5.2.1 It is the responsibility of the graphics person in charge to:
 Discuss with the LID, the user interface and graphic assets where

                        audience.

This stage is optional; it will depend on graphics input received/expected from
the client. The outcome of this meeting must be documented. Refer to the

unit of work (in case the LID’s estimates differ from the PM’s).
 Identify potential issues, viz, SME intervention required to
understand content; writers need to be trained to familiarize
themselves with content; etc……. These issues need to be
                        communicated to the PM.

    5. 4 Present ID strategy
5.4.1 It is the responsibility of the LID to:
 Offer concrete suggestions for the implementation of the ID
                        strategy.
 Present the ID strategy to other senior IDs (if necessary).
 Incorporate relevant review comments post senior/peer/QA
Facilitator review and track all comments till closure.
