									           LYNBROOK HIGH SCHOOL CHAPTER OF FBLA
            Chapter Project Committee Officer Team Application Form
To become an officer of Lynbrook FBLA’s Chapter Project Committee requires dedication and
responsibility. As an officer, you will be expected to attend weekly meetings and steer the project in an
appropriate direction by contributing ideas and planning extensively.

                                        Qualifications for Office

All candidates for office shall submit the following electronically to Chapter Project Chair Nina Kamath
at projectchair@lhsfbla.com:
    1. Resumé (not to exceed two pages)
    2. Spring 2011 Officer Intern Application Form

Applications are due electronically by Saturday, October 1 at 11:59 PM. No late applications will be
accepted. Questions can be emailed to Chapter Project Chair Nina Kamath at projectchair@lhsfbla.com.

                                          Duties of Vice-Chair
Position Description:
   1. Assist the Chapter Project Chair in scheduling, logistics, and implementation of the project
   2. Compile weekly summaries on details of the project on a Google Doc for a report base
   3. Assist with assembling of the 30-page Chapter Project Report
   4. Be willing to complete any other tasks, not mentioned in the above list, assigned by the Chapter
        Project Chair

Time Commitment:
   1. About 2-4 hours of work per week with an expected officer meeting every week and other
       assignments and obligations as time goes on. Most extensive commitment in March 2012 during
       report compilation.

Necessary attributes:
   1. Excellent writer to assist in the process of writing the report
   2. Needs to be good with deadlines
   3. Must work well with people (particularly the Chapter Project Chair)
   4. Good at following directions
   5. Creativity and self-motivation is key; someone who has new ideas on improving the Chapter
       Project, and who has the initiative to bring those ideas forward and implement them fluidly
   6. Organization is highly recommended (it helps with keeping track of deadlines)

                                     Duties of Secretary-Treasurer
Position Description:
   1. Assist the Chapter Project Chair in scheduling, logistics, and implementation of the project
   2. Assist the Project Chair in taking attendance by collecting and passing out tickets at committee
        meetings
   3. Keep a record of sign-ups and attendance for events and sponsored activities
   4.    Take accurate minutes and compile agendas for meetings
   5.    Work with the Project Chair to create a calendar and to keep track of all project deadlines
   6.    Develop fundraising proposals to syndicated businesses for funding support
   7.    Apply for Lynbrook PTSA Grant
   8.    Publish accurate financial statement at the end of the project
   9.    Assist report process by adding embellishments and details
   10.   Be willing to complete any other tasks, not mentioned in the above list, assigned by the Chapter
         Project Chair

Time Commitment:
   1. About 2-4 hours of work per week with an expected officer meeting every week and other
       assignments and obligations as time goes on. Most extensive commitment during March 2012

                                   Duties of Public Relations Officer
Position Description
   1. Assist the Chapter Project Chair in scheduling, logistics, and implementation of the project
   2. Develop independent web site for the project on Tumblr and blog a minimum of 3 times a week
        with interesting quotes, pictures, updates, or announcements
   3. Take quality pictures at every single project event including during committee and officer
        meetings
   4. Supply miscellaneous posters and flyers in preparation for large events
   5. Assist Project Chair in public relations by contacting press and securing national media coverage
   6. Assist with design of the 30-page Chapter Project Report
   7. Be willing to complete any other tasks, not mentioned in the above list, assigned by the Chapter
        Project Chair

Time Commitment
   1. About 2-4 hours of work per week with an expected officer meeting every week and other
       assignments and obligations as time goes on.
