11 TO DESIGNATE WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 2000, AS
12 “DISABILITIES DAY”, TO ENDORSE THE “B.A.C.-COFFEE
13 DAY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES” PROJECT AND
14 OTHER OUTSTANDING PROGRAMS OF EASTER SEALS
15 SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO PROVIDE FOR A JOINT
16 SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN THE HALL OF
17 THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AT 11:30 A.M. ON
18 WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 2000, AT WHICH TIME THE STATE
19 EASTER SEAL REPRESENTATIVES AND THEIR PARENTS
20 WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

22 Whereas, Easter Seals South Carolina has again embarked upon its
23 most worthwhile project to raise funds for people with disabilities,
24 culminating in the forty-eighth annual “B.A.C.-Coffee Day for
25 People with Disabilities” in South Carolina on Good Friday, April
26 21, 2000; and

28 Whereas, under the statewide leadership of Alton T. Morris,
29 Chairman of the Board of Directors of Easter Seals South Carolina,
30 and ably assisted by William Jefferson Flanders, State President,
31 and Alisa Mosley, Executive Director of the South Carolina Law
32 Enforcement Officers’ Association, and Thomas L. Sponseller,
33 Executive Director and Matt Brightwell, State President of the
34 South Carolina Restaurant Association, this program is destined to
35 raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to aid our very deserving
36 children and adults and assist them in overcoming their disabilities;
37 and

39 Whereas, the “B.A.C.” buttons go on sale Wednesday, April 5,
40 2000; and

1 Whereas, the “B.A.C.” project and all other programs of Easter
2 Seals South Carolina deserve the support, merit, and praise of all
3 citizens of the State. Now, therefore,

5 Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives
6 concurring:

8 That Wednesday, April 5, 2000, is designated “Disabilities Day” in
9 South Carolina and that representatives of Easter Seals South
10 Carolina, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers’
11 Association, and the South Carolina Restaurant Association, all
12 representing Josh MacDonald, son of Candy and Alan MacDonald
13 of Anderson, Toby Lyle Wilson, son of Ruthena and Charlie
14 Wilson of Georgetown, Karl Hoecke, son of Catherine and W. C.
15 Hoecke of Columbia, Trevor Conrad, son of Suzan Conrad of
16 Greenville, Melvin Isiah Williams, son of Crystal S. Williams of
17 Greenwood, Christine Harley, daughter of Deborah Harley and
18 Mark Harley of Spartanburg, Taylor Parrott, son of Jeannie and
19 Chip Parrott of Florence, and Tyler Cauldwell, son of Kimberly
20 Cauldwell of Hanahan, who have been chosen to serve as the
21 1999-2000 Easter Seals South Carolina State Representatives be
22 presented to the General Assembly in Joint Session of the General
23 Assembly in the Hall of the House of Representatives at 11:30 a.m.
24 on Wednesday, April 5, 2000.

26 Be it further resolved that the General Assembly extends to Easter
27 Seals South Carolina and its many dedicated supporters its sincere
28 wishes for continued success in its many constructive and
29 compassionate programs on behalf of persons with disabilities.

31 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
32 the President and Chief Executive Officer of Easter Seals South
33 Carolina for distribution to the state chairmen of the various phases
34 of the Easter Seals South Carolina’s campaign and the “B.A.C.”
35 project, as well as to the Easter Seals South Carolina
36 representatives themselves.
