Job Title:                     Senior Programmer Analyst

Reporting Line:                Team Leader

Grade:                         Level 3

Place of Work:                 York Office

Job Summary:
Provide advanced programming support to TSYS in any of the programming areas within
production services. This can cover issue resolution, problem management, recoveries or Non-
development projects. Critical to this role is the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
within a time-critical environment with minimal assistance, working on the more complicated and
high-risk issues, or those that span multiple functional areas.

Key Responsibilities:
       Provide programming support to TSYS Europe clients, other departments of TSYS and
        colleagues within the team by resolving complex issues, providing analysis and solutions
        for any supported module or platform.

       Analyse both client and internal reported issues, taking the lead in developing and
        implementing code changes as required.

       Provide a leading / advising role in conference calls and meetings with clients to clarify
        issues and to communicate issue resolution.

       Analyse batch job abends and take appropriate action as needed.

       Provide analysis and support to business analysts and be able to interpret business
        requirements and aid in the production of technical requirements. Review technical
        requirements, participate in planning meetings to give feedback, raise questions on
        delivery of client requirements.

       Ensure delivery of accurate scans, updates through thorough coding, testing and
        verification of results conforming to client’s requirements.

       Ensure all documentation is completed for audit purposes.

   Take the lead in dealing with severity 1 issues using resource as necessary and
    providing communication to Business Issues.

   Provide technical advice on functional areas of the system to Clients, other departments
    within TSYS and colleagues

   Actively make and impart suggestions for improved processes

   If necessary, coordinating with Data Centre staff for server, environment and
    connectivity issues to re-establish service

   Take ownership of processes within the department e.g. “ABENDS”

   Participate in and lead small presentations or workshops for new team members as

   Provide support to junior team members through mentoring and coaching. Identifying
    knowledge or skills gaps and making recommendations as appropriate

   Establish and promote relationships with colleagues in the UK and the overseas.

   Provide support to the programming team leaders, deputising where appropriate.

   Provide on-call support as required.

   Expand personal development in TS2 subject and technical areas

   Expand personal development in any value added products, third-party software or
    development tools which interface with TS2

   Engage in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) as required, and produce recommendations for
    long-term solutions.

   Any other responsibilities commensurate with the role or as assigned by the Line

Education & Experience
        Degree or HND in a computer related discipline, or equivalent         X
         or equivalent experience.
        Previous experience of working in a production support                X

        Previous experience of Customer Relationship Management                          X
        Any experience of Workflow Applications                                          X
        Experience of working with mainframe computers                                   X
        Good time and workflow management.                                    X

        Excellent working knowledge of JCL – preferably obtained                         X
         through use in an MVS Mainframe environment.
        Demonstrate current experience of TS2 or other account                           X
