March 2003 – Present: Branch Manager, Janus Consultancy (West Berkshire)
Initially I had the full responsibility of all the administration duties related to a small IFA business. From June 2003
onwards I took on Paraplanning duties for the Advisor and to ensure compliancy with FSA regulations for all our
business activities. Additionally from October 2004 have been providing Financial and Mortgage advice to leads
generated by myself and leads passed on by the principal.
Responsibilities:
• Submit business on behalf of the Advisor
• Make sure all business is compliant with FSA regulations
• Draft suitability reports
• Provide full administration support for the Advisor
Achievements:
• Streamlined the administration process
• Improved revenue generation by over 50%

Made redundant after 3 months of employment due to company downsizing. My duties included researching and
reviewing quotes for the advisors; organising direct mail initiatives to attract new clients; and to handle any
administration required by financial services regulation.
August 1999 - July 2002: Branch Manager, Enterprise Rent-A-Car (UK) Ltd
I began as a Trainee Manager dealing directly with retail and corporate customers. I progressed to Branch Manager
in September 2001 and was given the responsibility for the overall profit/loss of the Newbury location. My job was
to effectively increase business by creating strong relations within my marketplace, as well as managing my budget
and personnel in order to maximise operating profit while maintaining a very high level of customer satisfaction. I
had 3 full-time and 2 part-time staff reporting directly to me and it was my duty to motivate and provide training for
them in preparation for promotion.
Qualifications:
June 2003: CeMAP Bridge Paper
This course is designed to enable holders of appropriate financial services qualifications to achieve the benchmark
requirements for mortgage advisers without repeating areas of study.
May 2003: Financial Planning Certificate
The Chartered Insurance Institute accredits this course which meets the appropriate examination requirements for
financial advisers as recognized by the Financial Services Authority.

I followed a course of study emphasising the use of economic models to solve business problems. The major topics
covered in the course programme were Micro/Macro Economics, Marketing, Human Resources, Business Strategy
and Econometrics.
