SFI SPEC HARMONIC DAMPER WITHOUT THE FULL-RACE PRICE
HAWTHORNE, CA - Most stock and many aftermarket harmonic dampers are constructed
by sandwiching a layer of rubber between the hub and the outer ring, which means it's
possible for the ring to rotate on the hub (throwing off your TDC mark) or even fly off the
engine during hard use. This design is fine for commuter cars and trucks, but for high
performance use you'll definitely want something more substantial.
Professional Products Powerforce+Plus™ Harmonic Dampers are made using
only high strength 1045 steel, CNC machined to incredibly tight tolerances and balanced
better than OE units. Unlike pressed-together dampers, Powerforce+Plus™ Harmonic
Dampers have the elastomer physically bonded to the metal on either side, greatly
improving safety and damper reliability. Tested to over 12,500 RPM, Powerforce+Plus™
Harmonic Dampers exhibit exceptional damping characteristics between 6,500 and 7,500
RPM. Even better, they meet SFI Specification #18-1 and are available for a wide range of
internally or externally balanced Ford and Chevy engines. Simply swap counterweights to
move a damper among different Ford engines in the same family, or add an inexpensive
counterweight to move a damper to a different Chevy crank with the same snout!
Professional Products expects the Powerforce+Plus™ series of harmonic
dampers to retail starting at under $140 each at a wide variety of high performance retailers
throughout the U.S. and Canada. For more information please contact Professional
Products, 12705 S. Van Ness Ave., Hawthorne, CA 90250. Phone 323-779-2020 or visit
