Poster and Platform Presentations
Eligibility: Current enrollment in an undergraduate or pre-professional program
and undertaking health research. Cash prizes will be awarded.
Selection Process: Approximately 10 students will be selected to give platform presentations.
All others will be invited to present in poster format.
In addition to scientific content, evaluation criteria will also include:
a) clarity of the presentation (max 10 min)
b) visual organization of the poster or slides
c) ability to answer questions/demonstrated knowledge of the topic
Deadline: Abstracts must be received by October 19th to take part in this research day

In signing, we (the presenter and supervisor) agree to have the abstract available for viewing on
the IHRTP/Dalhousie University website and in any publications. We also consent to the use of
any photographs that may be taken during this event, to be used for administrative or
promotional purposes. Examples include but are not limited to: marketing and promotional
material (brochures, websites) annual reports, media releases, and magazine articles.
Guidelines for Abstract:
The abstract must include 1) title of the project, 2) name of student, 3) name of supervisor, 4)
department in which the work was conducted, 5) source of support (e.g. Music-in-Medicine
Summer Studentship) and the 6) period of time in which the work was conducted (e.g. June –
Aug 2011). If you are unsure of your source of support, please contact your Research Office.
Please email abstracts to email@example.com and mail/drop-off the signed registration form to Terrilyn
Chiasson, IHRTP, Room C-221, CRC Building – no later than October 19th, 2012.
Abstracts should be 250 words or less in MS Word, using Arial font size 12. Abstracts
which exceed the word count will be returned.
