Avoid the identification with the prostitute class Women may read about things they should not know
The demoralization of girls Man’s equal
(Why not woman’s equal?)
The line has become vague
The professional and the amateur prostitute A rising tide of moral feeling?
The charm of the girl is an asset Engulfing all pride
A lure With a great deal of love
Few prostitutes continue until extinction?
A brute, a slave
To be beaten, pinched, and pushed about
The shop or office girl who makes sexual excursions Can she withstand the rigors of life?
Poor, hard-pressed, and depending for daily bread Can I?
Only a transitory stage?
National events determine our ideals
No matter what a white man does to them
Prostituting themselves in order to have luxuries They must not resist
Accumulating money It is not fair
A legitimate excuse for hard dealing, sly tricks, special privileges Influences that must destroy their purity and self-respect
What are we going to do about it? Surprise and consternation among their audience
Children which should never have been born
Our ideals determine national events
It is our business
They have lost their power now
“Keeping house” Martyrs to the cause of free speech
Kidnapped, lured, or purchased To be bound by someone
“Just a housewife” I would not dream of coercing them
What a tremendous thing
The same heroic self-sacrifice
Strike off the shackles of slavery Dogma
Fine courage and readiness to meet death Peace has come to mean a larger thing
