Below you will find the “Criteria In Selecting Artists”, the Deadline Notice”, and the
“Classroom Presentation Proposal Form”.

Presentations should be designed for hands-on participatory learning, each
presentation is intended to enrich aesthetic sensitivities, offer cultural perspectives in
the arts, and enhance the school’s cultural activities.

If you find that you meet the criteria, please submit proposal(s), resume and references
to:

If we feel that your experience and presentations are a good match with our mission we
will contact you to set up an interview. Otherwise you will receive a notice in the mail
detailing our concerns.

                  CRITERIA IN SELECTING ARTISTS
    ARTS & HUMANITIES COUNCIL OF TULSA’S ARTS IN COMMUNITY AND
                       EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Artists selected to teach in our education programs participate in Tulsa’s cultural community.
Their resumes indicate the exhibition, presentation, or publication of their work. Artists affiliated
with Council programs hold bachelors or masters degrees in their chosen discipline.

VISUAL ARTISTS exhibit their work regionally and nationally in commercial and university
galleries, museums, and art centers. They present their portfolios and submit a resume indicating
their exhibition and teaching experience.

MUSIC ARTISTS are affiliated with Tulsa performing arts organizations and/or demonstrate a
strong teaching background. Their resumes indicate their involvement in performance and in
music education.

WRITERS are published in notable literary journals, are active in Tulsa’s literary community,
and have extensive teaching experience. Their resumes indicate a continual growth in the
development of their craft.

THEATER ARTISTS work in community and professional theater as actors, set designers,
playwrights, directors and teachers. They submit a resume indicating their theater experience.

DANCE ARTISTS have backgrounds in modern and ballet with secondary emphasis on tap,
jazz and interdisciplinary. They are involved in the cultural community as performers,
presenters, choreographers and teachers. Performance resumes indicate on going involvement in
the presentation of their discipline.

TRADITIONAL, FOLK AND CULTURAL PRESENTERS are self taught or have acquired
their cultural traditions from family, elders or from a network of folk artists. They are active in
the presentation or performing of their work.

                    2007 - 2008 SCHOOL YEAR

Hello Friends:

It is already time to compile next year’s Artists-in-the-Directory. If you wish to
participate next year, HERE IS WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

1.    Fill out a form for each new proposal. Please be specific, but brief. We will
      not accept lengthy proposals, or proposals that do not clearly state what you
      wish to offer. Call Kay (584-3333 X 16) or kgoss@ahct.org if you need
      assistance.

2.    Use a blank proposal form to let us know in writing if you want to
      change any information on offerings currently listed, including address and
      phone number changes.

3.    Let us know in writing if you want to drop any presentations that are
      already listed. Consider dropping presentations that are not being
      requested by teachers.

4.     Let us know in writing if you cannot participate in the AIS program next
      school year.


IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A COPY OF THIS YEAR’S DIRECTORY, PLEASE
PICK ONE UP AT OUR 3RD FLOOR OFFICE. IN ORDER TO SUBMIT
PROPOSALS FOR NEXT YEAR, YOU MAY NEED TO REFER TO THIS
YEAR’S BOOK.
