To provide principals and teachers of elementary, and K-8 Centers with information on the upcoming
Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM) professional development for grades K – 5
The Division of Mathematics is providing principals and grades K through 5 teachers of mathematics
at the elementary and K-8 Centers with information on Common Core State Standards for
Mathematics (CCSSM) professional development.
The elementary CCSSM sessions, Transitioning to CCSS for Mathematics (Grades K-2) and
Transitioning to CCSS for Mathematics (Grades 3-5), are scheduled as follows:
Date: Tuesday, November 6, 2012
Locations: Both elementary CCSSM sessions will be conducted at each of the following locations:
o Brentwood Elementary (Loc # 0461)
3101 NW 191 STREET
Miami Gardens, FL 33056
o Kendale Elementary (Loc # 2641)
10693 SW 93RD STREET
Miami, FL 33176
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
o Teachers must arrive on time since late arrivals will not be permitted in the sessions.
o Teachers that leave prior to the 12:00 PM conclusion of the workshop will forfeit their Master
o Upon successful completion of the three-hour session, including submission of the follow-up
work, participants will receive 4 Master Plan Points.
o Teachers must pre-register for their current grade-level course.
o Registration is restricted. Teachers may only register for the grade level cluster that applies to
the grade level they currently teach.
o Transitioning to CCSS for Mathematics (Grades K-2) and Transitioning to CCSS for
Mathematics (Grades 3-5) can be accessed at the online PD Menu & Registration System
located at, http://calendar.dadeschools.net/; go to “Find a Session, “By Instructor”, and
search for the session under Diaz-Gonzalez, Maria Teresa.
o Walk-ins will not be accepted.
