Work Experience
June 2005 to date - National Australia Group (Yorkshire Bank) (Financial
I joined the Yorkshire Bank earlier this year in order to further my career in financial
services. I have taken on a new team of branches that have previously has no
financial service coverage. Whilst this is a great challenge I have already made great
strides in developing the teams and am starting to generate business having started
selling at the end of September.

October 2002 to June 2005 – NFU Mutual (Financial Consultant)
I was taken on as a trainee and quickly passed FPC (1,2&3) and all the internal
exams/assessments first time. I am pleased to be the only one of my initial intake
group (of 12) to have passed all exams first time and was also first to be signed off to
sell (on accompanied basis and as CAS) from this group. In February 2003 I was
signed off to start selling on an accompanied call basis and reached competent adviser
status by September 2003.

In the time with the company I had a great deal of training, with internal examinations
covering savings, investments, pensions, life assurance, trusts and Inheritance tax

I was located in a wide area covering teams in Anglesey, Caernarfon, Newtown,
Welshpool, Mold and Wrexham. I feel I have learnt a great deal of technical
knowledge and have also further developed my personal skills having sometimes had
to go that ‘extra mile’ to gain the trust of clients an introducers alike because of
language barriers.

Since January 2004 I improved the performance of all of the agencies that I worked
with and maintained an excellent compliance record. I did this through developing
relations with introducers and proactively canvassing existing client databases in
order to self generate business in areas where introducers were less productive.

March 2002 to October 2002 - Marks and Spencer Financial Services
This position involved dealing with customers face to face and cross selling suitable
products and also telesales for following up sales leads. I also used my knowledge
of spreadsheets to produce systems for measuring individual sales against targets and
tracking leads and sales.

November 2001 to March 2002 –NatWest (Customer Adviser)
This position involved dealing with customers face to face at the customer service
counter. This involved answering customer queries, solving problems and attempting
to spot cross-selling opportunities to provide sales leads to others.

August 1999 to June 2001 – Dixons (Part-time sales)
June 2001 to October 2001 – Dixons (Full-time sales)
During my time working in the sales team I was continually able to develop my
self-confidence and decision-making skills and also able to communicate effectively
with colleagues, superiors and all genres of the public alike.

I also achieved a high level of performance in terms of sales performance and
customer service. I achieved the top coverplan sales award for part-timers in the
entire area, as well as several awards for outstanding sales in the store. I gained a
great deal of success through my enthusiasm, determination and strong
communication skills.

I also gained a great deal of satisfaction from working in a closely-knit team, in terms
of being helped and providing assistance to less experienced team members.

Other Skills
Computer proficient - excellent knowledge of Windows and Microsoft office (in
particular Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, FrontPage and Project.

Full driving licence (clean) – 7 years
