your number for stage 2 and sign both sign-on sheets
NOTE – Juvenile/Junior riders must wear a hard-shell helmet – CTT regulation 15
The event HQ is Norwood Village Hall just off the B6541 (after the top of Norwood Edge). The hall will
be open from 12 noon so you can use this between rides as a base if you wish. The prize
presentation will take place at HQ after the Norwood Edge Hill Climb and tea/coffee/cakes will also be
available. It is approximately 5 minutes from Norwood Edge. There is reasonable parking at and
around the hall however please do be aware of resident’s driveways around the area.
STAGE 1 – V8910 GUISE CLIFF (PATELEY BRIDGE) – first rider off at 11.01am.
Start on Nought Moor Road (unclassified road direction south off the B6265 Pateley Bridge to
Grassington road) five yards past telegraph pole number 6 adjacent to driveway to High
Westcliffe. Climb south to finish at crest of hill. Approximately 1400 yards.
To find, take the B6265 west out of Pateley Bridge signposted Grassington. Directly
opposite the Royal Oak pub is a road signposted 'Bewerley Hall Farm 1'. This takes you to
the course. There is no parking at the start. Competitors should park in the car-parks in Pateley
Bridge. The cost for two hours is currently 50p – see http://www.harrogate.gov.uk/harrogate-1270.
It is approximately 1.5 miles from the car parks to the hill so please allow at least 15 minutes getting

STAGE 2 – V 897 NORWOOD EDGE - first rider off at 13.01pm.
Start 3 miles north of Otley on the B6451 at a grate on west side of road just north of bridge over
reservoir. Finish at top of hill approximately 50 yards before junction of road to TV booster aerial.
The B6451 is the Otley to Pateley Bridge Road. Please park sensibly and allow room for the start
timekeeper. There is very limited parking at the start but there is a car park half way up on the left
hand side and at the event HQ. Please avoid parking at the top of the hill. (Post Code: LS21 2RD or

start; the start marshal will only hold you up.

2011 Points Competition for Yorkshire Hill Climbs for the White Rose Shield
This is the 7th year of the Yorkshire Hill Climbs competition. Counting events are all the V course events
in the 2010 CTT handbook plus the Pedalsport CC 2 stage hill climb. It is open to all riders, not just
riders of Yorkshire DC Clubs. Two stage events count as two separate events. A rider may fail to
start/complete one of the stages. For 2011 riders must complete 6 rides out of the possible 12. Best 6
rides to count. The number of counting riders may change each year, depending on the number of
promotions. Points awarded – 1st place 120 pts, 2nd place 119 pts, 3rd place 118 pts etc. In the event of
a tie overall, winner decided on most wins, then 2nd place etc. The other remaining counting events are:

Events held on the same day are at different times therefore it is possible to ride all the events. The
winner will hold the White Rose Shield for one year. Plaques will be awarded to 1st placed Lady, 1st
placed Junior/Juvenile and 1st placed Veteran.
