									THE GUIDESPILOT
Fade In: We open on Meir. A man in his twenties, wearing a white tuxedo. Meir is sitting next to a table in a restaurant, with a view to the marine. We hear Frank Sinatara's "My Way" in the Background. Meir is holding a glass of red wine. Laying on the table before him is a suitcase, filled with cash. He drinks the wine and sighs. Meir: (V.O) I apologize for the clichéd soundtrack, but that song really tells it like it is in my case. If some hack director would ever be desperate enough to make a movie about me, he'd probably use this moment as the opening scene. Of course, I can picture the viewers in my head right now. "This is a man who has everything" is what they'd say. )Pauses)

I'm here to show them how wrong they are.

INTERIOR.

C.I.A HEADQUARTERS- NIGHT

We see Robert, a thin, tall, respectable man in his early forties. Robert is sitting in front of the office's computer. Robert looks intensely at the screen. He wipes sweat from his forehead. We see that he is actually playing an online checkmate game. He loses the game after a few more moves.

ROBERT: Oh, well. Looks like my luck's running low tonight.

He gets up, and is about to leave the office when he notices an update on the screen. It's a text message. He reads it, and looks completely terrified by its contents.

ROBERT: What the hell? Is this somebody's idea of a prank?
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Another text message appears on his screen. It reads simply- "Terminate File." Robert presses on it, and it disappears. The computer shuts down. Robert is about to leave the office, when he gets nauseous. He starts coughing, and can't keep himself steady. Robert collapses on the floor. He starts choking and shaking. He tries to get back up, and sees the flesh on his hand has been peeled away. Robert keeps shaking uncontrollably, until he finally stops moving.

MEIR: (V.O) The Experts on TV called it a "Biological attack", but I doubt any of these pricks knew what the hell they were talking about. No one knew what hit them, and no one was immune. (Pauses) It took merely four days to bring down all of the world's intelligence agencies. Frankly, I for one wasn't surprised.

Apartment-

Day

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

A typical bachelor apartment, in a state of constant mess. We see Max, a thin, short, dark haired man in his early twenties, sitting on the sofa and staring at the television screen. Sitting next to Max is Sarah, a tall, thin blonde in her thirties. She keeps shooting glances at the television screen, and back at her cellphone.

NEWSCASTER: -The President is urging our citizens to remain calm. The crisis is under control, and there's no reason to panic about a plague.

REPORTER: Yeah, that's easier said than done. The President is in the same situation all of the worlds' leaders are in. Those folks are even more panicked than we are. (Pauses) So I'm curious to know what kind of control he has over the situation? Max laughs bitterly and shakes his head. He turns to look at Sarah.

MAX:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Modern world's going to hell, and the politicians are still trying to cover their own ass. Some things will never change.

Sarah ignores him, and keeps looking at her phone. He sees how worried she is and moves closer to her.

MAX: )Quietly) Sarah? I'm sorry. Y'know how I get when these things happen.

SARAH: No, it's not that. I was just- expecting a call from work.

MAX: From work. (Laughs) You'd think that after everything that's happened, they'd give you the day off. But it's like I said. Some things never change.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

He gets up, and leaves the living room. Sarah looks at her cellphone again, and sees she received a text message. The sender's name is Benjamin. Only three words are written in it- "It has begun."

SARAH: )Quietly) You have no idea how right you are.

EXT. STREET-

NIGHT

The city has become a complete hellhole. Stores are broken into, buildings set on fire. The cops are trying to control the raging mob, but to no avail. Through all the chaos, We can see Meir walking down the street, wearing a raincoat. Completely oblivious to the chaos. Suddenly, everyone else is gone in a flash of white light. MALE VOICE: Much better, don't you think? Meir turns around, and sees the speaker is a bearded, dark haired man wearing a leather jacket. His name is Benjamin.

BENJAMIN:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

I never was a fan of crowds, and from what I can see, neither are you. )Pauses.) Oh, don't worry about all that. It was just a demonstration.

MEIR: Of what?

BENJAMIN: Of things can get worse for all of you.

MEIR: Us? Who the hell are you?

BENJAMIN: Oh, Darn it. Where are my manners? (Pauses) My name is Benjamin. Let's just say that I'm your Guide.

He holds out his hand. Meir doesn't shake it. Benjamin turns to leave, as "My Way" starts playing.
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

MEIR: What the hell do I need a guide for?

BENJAMIN: (Smiles) That's a good question. But as your Guide, I can tell you it's one you'll have to find the answer to on your own. )Pauses) See you on the other side.

INTERIOR. MEIR'S BEDROOM- NIGHT

Meir wakes up, and turns on the lights. He gets up, and starts pacing around in the bedroom. He finally sits down, and turns on the television. NEWSCASTER: -The casualty estimate is growing, in what most people have come to call the most horrifying terrorist attack of the decade.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Meir turns the television off. He then turns on the radio, and listens to a late night show.

HOST: Thank you for joining us tonight, listeners. We've opened a special line for those of you who want to call in and talk about the latest events. It looks like we already have a first caller. Would you like to open the discussion?

CALLER: Yeah, I would like to address the cover up that's been going on. HOST: (Sighs) Oh, you're one of those. I really doubt anyone would want to cover up something like that, but go ahead. Humor me.

CALLER: All the folks in the press keep calling it a "Terrorist attack." If that's the case, how come no terrorist cell has claimed the responsibility for it?
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

HOST: These things usually take time. The lunatics are trying to cause as much damage as they can before they do.

CALLER: What If I tell you I have proof the United States Government created whatever killed those people?

Silence. Meir is sitting close to the radio, and is tuned to every word in their conversation.

HOST: Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to get off the line. This isn't a show for conspiracy nuts.

He hangs up, and the broadcast is over. Meir hits the mantle the radio is on, and it breaks.

MEIR: Dammit.
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

BENJAMIN: (o.s) Yeah, that was my reaction when that idiot hung up on me.

Meir turns around and sees Benjamin leaning against the wall, reading an issue of "Sports Illustrated." He smiles at Meir's reaction.

MEIR: You.. You're not real..

BENJAMIN: (Laughs) Sometimes, I wish it were the case. Sorry to disappoint you, kid. I'm as real as you are.

MEIR: How did you get here?

BENJAMIN:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

I have my ways. )He notices the broken radio.) I take it you didn't like my act?

MEIR: I'm guessing you don't really have proof for that conspiracy you made up. What were you trying to pull?

BENJAMIN: Well, it was fun. And among other things, I was trying to get your full attention. My gut tells me I did just fine on that regard.

MEIR: What the hell do you want with me?

BENJAMIN: You'll find out when the time comes. But meanwhile, we have a lot more to talk about, and I'm personally starving. How about you?

MEIR:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

I.. Could use something to eat. BENJAMIN: (Smiles) Fantastic. I know just the place.

INTERIOR. PIZZA PLACE- NIGHT

The place is completely deserted, except for Meir and Benjamin. The two are sitting next to one of the tables close to the entrance. Benjamin is finishing a slice of Pizza. Meir still hasn't touched his.

Benjamin: I thought you said you were hungry.

MEIR: I tend to lose my appetite when my city becomes a "Ghost town."

BENJAMIN: You'd rather wait in line?

MEIR:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

I'm glad you find it all so amusing.

BENJAMIN: Sorry, Kid. I've seen things that would make you want to rip out your eyes. A bunch of people skipping town because they're panicked? That's nothing. (He slowly finishes a can of soda.) But enough about me. We're here to talk about you.

MEIR: You're not going to make me choose between the red and the blue pills, are you?

BENJAMIN: (Laughs) No, I'm defiantly not.

MEIR: You said you were my Guide. What the hell does that even mean?

BENJAMIN:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

(Sighs) You want the short version or the long one? (Pauses) All I can tell you is that we were once agroup. Or at least, we were. We called ourselves "The Guides", as clichéd as that sounds. Our goal was to find people like you and help them find their way.

MEIR: And by people like me..

BENJAMIN: People with potential for greatness.

Meir laughs. He looks away from Benjamin, and starts eating his Pizza. No longer interested.

MEIR: Well, you're barking up the wrong tree.

BENJAMIN:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Maybe. But I've never been wrong before. (Pauses) Our group had clear rules, until recently. We couldn't get directly involved. But that's all changed now. Why do you think all of the world's intelligence agencies were brought down? MEIR: You're telling me you're responsible for what happened?

Benjamin leans against his chair. He considers his every word.

BENJAMIN: Some of us, yes. It was inevitable.

Meir gets up, and leaves the table. He's about to leave the Pizza place, when Benjamin stops him.

BENJAMIN: Did you forget the demonstration I showed you? This is just the beginning, Kid. Things are going to get worse than anything

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

you've ever seen. Do you really think you can walk away from it?

MEIR: I think I just did. )Smiles) Thanks for the Pizza.

He walks out of the Pizza place, and starts running. Benjamin goes back to their table, and sits down.

BENJAMIN: (Sighs) Some things never change.

EXT. MARINE- NIGHT Sarah is sitting in a restaurant, with a view to the marine. She pours herself a glass of red wine. On the table lies a suitcase she doesn't dare to touch.

MALE VOICE: (O.S)
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Enjoying the view?

The voice belongs to Zachary. A tall, thin man in his early fifties. Zachary has a respectable and commanding presence to him. He sits next to Sarah, and pours himself a glass of wine.

SARAH: There aren't a lot of things left to enjoy these times.

ZACHARY: (Smiles) Well, at least you can enjoy some charming company.

SARAH: That kind is rather hard to find. Especially now. ZACHARY: (Laughs) I've missed your sense of humor, Sarah. Almost as badly as I've missed you. (Pauses)
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

I see you still haven't opened the case.

SARAH: I already told you- I want no part in it.

ZACHARY: And I'm telling you right now, that it's time for you to choose a side. How's Benjamin?

She tries to get away from him, but he grabs her hand and doesn't let go.

ZACHARY: It's going to turn into something ugly real soon, Sarah. If you don't believe me, just open the case.

He gets up, and leaves the restaurant. Shaken, she slowly opens the suitcase and looks completely horrified by its contents.

INTERIOR. PSYCHOLOGIST'S OFFICE- DAY

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Meir is sitting in front of Dr. Joseph Berger. A short, nervous man in his fifties. Berger findles with his glasses before adressing Meir.

BERGER: Meir, what you're describing is completely natural. I magine a lot of people are panicking after what happened last week.

MEIR: (Smiles) So it's completely natural, right, Doc? What about the dreams?

BERGER: What dreams?

Meir leans backwars in his chair, and doesn't say anything. He looks like he considers his evey word.

MEIR: I knew this was going to happen.
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

For the past couple of weeks, someone has been appearing in my dreams. He calls himself Benjamin. And he.. showed me that it was going to happen. He called it a demonstration. And he said it was all going to get worse. (Pauses) I didn't take any of it seriously until I met him last night.

BERGER: That Benjamin.. Did he tell you to do something? Hurt anyone?

MEIR: No. He just said he's my Guide.

BERGER: Guide? What do you mean by that?

Berger starts coughing. His chest hurts, and he starts choking. Meir rushes to his side. MEIR: Dr. Berger?
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Meir holds him by his shoulders. Berger collapses on His desk, and starts convulsing. Then he finally stops moving.

MEIR: Dammit. Not again.

The office's door is slammed open. A group of armed men rush into the room, all of them aiming their weapons at Meir's direction. He holds up his hands. Zachary enters the office, accompanied by a man whose face Meir can't see.

ZACHARY: That's our guy? Zachary and the man move closer to Meir. When they do, Meir recognizes the other man as none other than Benjamin. ZACHARY: Benjamin has told me so much about you, that I started to think you were to good to be true. But then, some people have to be. (He notices Meir staring at Berger's body.)

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Oh yeah, sorry about the shrink. Benjamin said it wouldn't be easy to bring you in, so we got a little carried away. At least you don't have to pay him anymore.

MEIR: Who the hell are you?

ZACHARY: I'm Zachary, Meir. )(He smiles and holds out his hand.) Welcome to the team.

EXT. FOREST- NIGHT We open on Adam, a tall, black man, in his early twenties. Adam is walking alone in the forest, armed with a rifle. He makes it back to a camp, made from three tents. Sarah and Max are sitting outside of one.

MAX: Anyone?

ADAM:

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

The closest city is miles from here, and it's under quarantine. I feel sorry for the poor son of a bitch who tries to get out of there.

Sarah and Max exchange worried looks. Adam is oblivious to it, and starts cleaning his rifle. Then he looks up, and stares intently at the couple.

ADAM: Y'know, it makes me wonder how you two manage to get out just like that.

MAX: My wife is.. connected. That made it easier for us.

ADAM: I bet.

MAX: I hope you don't mind me asking, but how exactly did you wind up here?
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

ADAM: No, not really. The truth is that when I showed up here, I had no idea what was going on. I was out hunting with my friends, and we set up this camp.

MAX: What happened to them?

ADAM: I buried them next to your tent, about ten days ago. They all got sick. I couldn't anything but watch. (Pauses) Let's hope we'll have better luck.

He stops cleaning his rifle, and gets up. Then he heads away from the camp, taking the rifle with him.

MAX: Where do you think you're going?

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

ADAM: To find us something to eat. It won't take long.

Sarah and Max are left alone in the camp. Sarah turns to Max, and looks worried.

SARAH: (Quietly) That guy is giving me the creeps.

MAX: (Smiles) Yeah, me too. It's like hanging out with John Locke.

He sees how stressed she still is, and moves closer to her. MAX: Look, you said we have to get out of the city. And it looks like this guy knows what he's doing. So the way I see it, we're better off with him.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

His words seem to have a calming effect on Sarah. She lies next to him, outside of their tent. When he finally falls asleep, Sarah pulls the suitcase out of the tent and opens it. Inside it is a laptop, with video coverage of all the world's leaders. A text message appears on the screen. It reads simply- "It's going to happen sooner than you think." SARAH: Better off for sure. INTERIOR- HELICOPTER- DAY

Meir is sitting next to Benjamin, with Zachary sitting in front of them. The agents keep aiming their weapons at Meir. He turns to face Benjamin.

MEIR: I'd appreciate it if someone would tell me where we're going.

BENJAMIN: Somewhere safe.

MEIR:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Yeah, I feel real safe with all those armed people around.

Zachary gets up, and moves to the front of the helicopter. He leaves Meir alone with Benjamin.

MEIR: Everything you told me about the "Guides" .. Your demonstration... it was all a lie? Benjamin is silent. He looks at the armed agents, and turns to face Meir. He considers his every word.

BENJAMIN: I'm sorry it had to come to this, Kid. But you didn't give me the chance to finish our talk. You're important to the work we're doing.

Meir leans backwards, and closes his eyes. He looks defeated. Benjamin He gets up, and joins Zachary sighs. at the front of the helicopter. Zachary moves over so he can sit next to him.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

ZACHARY: (Laughs) I've only known the guy for half an hour, and I already know he's going to make our lives hell.

BENJAMIN: It's going to be harder than we thought, but he'll come around. I've never been wrong before.

ZACHARY: For your sake, I'm hoping he won't make it the first time. We can't afford to get sidetracked.

Benjamin ignores him. He watches the view out of the window, and looks lost in thought. Zachary looks at him intently for a few minutes.

ZACHARY: Why do I get the feeling something else is bothering you?

BENJAMIN:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

It's just that... the kid's reaction made me think. (Pauses) Zachary, what if we're just creating the chaos?

ZACHARY: That old argument. We're not creating the chaos, Benjamin. We're controlling it.

BENJAMIN: I hope you're right, for your sake.

ZACHARY: (Smiles) I've never been wrong before.

INTERIOR. MILLATIRY HANGER- DAY

The helicopter finally lands inside the hanger. Zachary gets out first, followed by the agents surrounding Meir. Benjamin secures the area before joining them. Meir looks around, and sees a pile of bodies
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

shoved in one of the hanger's corners. He bumps into Benjamin and turns to face him.

MEIR: I thought this place is supposed to be safe.

BENJAMIN: This is where we had our tests. Unfortunately, some of them had less than pleasant results.

MEIR: (V.O) Looking back on it, I shouldn't have been that surprised about the pile of bodies. These guys, whoever they were, already showed me they were serious. I wish I could tell you I realized at that moment I had to stop them, but only one cohesive thought went through my head- How did I get myself into this mess?

EXT. FOREST- NIGHT

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Sarah wakes up, and sees that Max is still sleeping. Adam still isn't back. Sarah gets up, and heads after him. She hears a gunshot, and a loud scream. She starts running towards the sound, and stops when she sees Adam laying on the ground. Dead.

ZACHARY: (O.S) It's good to see you again, Sarah.

Sarah turns around to see Zachary standing in front of her. Bloody knife in hand. She slowly backs away from him.

ZACHARY: I really didn't expect it to happen so fast, but I can't complain.

Sarah picks up Adam's rifle and aims at Zachary's chest. She fires twice. Zachary drops to the ground, and gets back on his feet. Completely unharmed. Zachary smiles at her expression. The rifle vanishes from her hands, and Adam's body is gone.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

SARAH: You.. you're not real..

ZACHARY: No, but that doesn't mean I wasn't hurt by what you tried to do. I told you it's going to turn into something ugly, Sarah. I see you already chose a side. I can only hope you're prepared to face the consequences.

SARAH: Save your breath. Next time, it's going to be a real gun and I'll make sure you're dead after I pull the trigger.

ZACHARY: (Laughs) Charming as ever. The truth is, I'm not sure there's going to be a next time. It's going to happen sooner than you think. MAX: (O.S) Sarah?!
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Zachary is gone. Max rushes to Sarah's side, and hugs her. He keeps holding her close to him, when he sees she is shaking.

MAX: What happened back there?

SARAH: There's something I have to tell you.

INTERIOR. HANGER- DAY

Zachary smiles to himself, and starts walking towards Meir's direction. He kneels next to him.

ZACHARY: Get up. It's time. Zachary stands up. The agents pull Meir up from the floor, and follow Zachary along the hanger. He stops in front of a Large monitor for a device laying on the table.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

MEIR: You've got to be kidding me. Would anyone tell me why you dragged me to stare at this toy?

BENJAMIN: (O.S) This "toy" is the reason you're here, Kid.

Meir turns around, and sees Benjamin behind him. He watches him, and listens to his every word. Benjamin points at the monitor.

BENJAMIN: Those tests I told you about..

They were all done in order to activate that device. But eventually, we had to accept what we had suspected all along. The only one that can do it is you.

MEIR: And what does this fancy gadget do, anyway?

ZACHARY:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

Call me old fashioned, but I like to think of it as "The Doomsday weapon." (Pauses. He smiles at Meir's expression.) This is how we control the chaos.

MEIR: You son of a bitch. Is that how you justify it? I've got news for you, Pal. You're not controlling the chaos. You're creating it.

He grabs Zachary by the lapels, and shoves him against the wall. The Agents grab Meir, and release Zachary from his grip. Zachary Straightens his lapels, and shoots a look at Benjamin.

ZACHARY: Yeah, I've heard that view before. But you still haven't seen everything.

He pushes a button on the monitor, and it shows surveillance footage of all the world's leaders. Zachary backs away, to give Meir a better view of it all.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

ZACHARY: Meet the people who really create the chaos. (Pauses) Our first strike has left them completely defenseless. A lesser man would say we've caught those idiots with their pants down. Now, it's up to you to wipe them all out.

EXT. FOREST- NIGHT

Sarah and Max are in deep conversation. They are oblivious to the fact Adam is listening to their every word.

MAX: I don't get it. I thought you had a job at the C.I.A..

SARAH: I do work there, I just don't work for them.

MAX:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

You had a terrific timing to tell me you're a spy.

SARAH: Look, I'm not a spy. At least- I didn't gather information for anyone.

MAX: But you did report to this.. Group. How did you call them?

SARAH: They called themselves "The Guides." (Pauses) A group of men and women who convinced themselves its their role to find "People with potential to greatness", and guide them into building a better society. It sounded so convincing at the time, but they eventually realized it had no chance of happening. They group eventually broke apart, years ago.

MAX:

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

So what do they have to do with what happened?

SARAH Like I said, they broke apart. Most of them are lead by the most terrible human being I've ever met. He calls himself Zachary. He's convinced the rest of them the only way to form a new society is to destroy the one that came before it.

MAX: Yeah, he's really someone I wish I could invite over for Christmas. If this son of a bitch leads most of them, who's left to lead the sane ones?

ADAM: (O.S) I am. Max turns around, and sees Adam standing behind him, armed with a rifle. Sarah looks at him intently, and he nods for approval. Max looks at them both and shakes his head.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

MAX: Terrific. That's what I needed to calm down.

ADAM: Glad to hear it, because you're going to have a lot to worry about really soon. )Pauses) I'm sorry that I've had to deceive you like this, but we have protocols, and they are firm. You probably forgot all about them. Because after all, you abandoned your post.

Sarah is about to answer him, when he gestures for her to be silent. He starts heading away from the camp.

ADAM: Unfortuantely, we don't have enough time to chit chat. I've made contact with the others while you two were busy with your confession. Zachary's got him.

SARAH: I thought we had him under watch... Berger..
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

ADAM: Berger is dead. If we don't hurry, we're all going to suffer the same fate.

INTERIOR.

HANGAR- NIGHT

Meir is held in one of the cells inside the hangar. He sighs, and looks outside. Armed guards are positioned in every inch next to it.

MEIR: (V.O) Ok, so maybe I didn't react too well to finding out I'm a doomsday weapon, but I'd like to see you deal with something like that. Zachary, the head nutjub in this place, wasn't taken back by my reaction. He had me locked up in this room, under constant guard. But as someone who spent most of his teenage life in Institutions, I really didn't see the big difference.

The cell's door opens, and Benjamin comes in. Meir looks at him with hatred in his eyes.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

BENJAMIN: Hey, Kid.

MEIR: Big Boss sent you to make me cooperate?

Benjamin sighs. He sits next to Meir, and turns to look at the guards outside. Then he turns back to Meir.

BENJAMIN: He's not my boss. But like I told you back then, we're here to talk about you.

MEIR: With all due respect to you being my "Guide" and all, I think I've heard enough of what you have to say. In other words, go to hell.

BENJAMIN: (Laughs)
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

I probably will, eventually.

But there's some things I have left to do before I go there. The most important one is to remind you that you have a choice.

MEIR: (Laughs) Looks like your pal Zachary didn't get the memo on that one.

BENJAMIN: Wouldn't be the first time. )Pauses) I never lied to you, Meir. You're important to the work we're doing.

MEIR: Sure, as the Doomsday weapon.

BENJAMIN: You're a lot more than that, Meir. But Zachary is so deep into his megalomaniac schemes to realize that.
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

(Pauses) We've been watching you for years, Meir. I know you have been waiting for a chance to prove yourself most of your adult life. I'm telling you, this is it.

MEIR: (Smiles) For someone who's been watching me for so long, I'm surprised you don't know I don't fall for that kind of bullshit anymore. You'll have to try harder.

BENJAMIN: You don't, Huh? What if I told you it was the only way you could make up for what happened to Emma?

Silence. Meir is completely shocked, and lowers his head. He doesn't want Benjamin to see him fighting back tears, and ignores his presence. Benjamin sees it as a sign, and starts to leave when Meir gets up, and shoots him a determined look.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

MEIR: You're a real son of a bitch, you know that?

BENJAMIN: (Smiles) I've been told, more than once. As much as I hate to brag, I've always been efficient. (Pauses) I told you that you'll find out what I want from you when the time is right, and it is. I need your help, Kid.

MEIR: I'm in.

INT. ZACHARY'S OFFICE- NIGHT Zachary is sitting alone in his private office. On his desk, lay a bottle of champagne, and an old record player. Zachary pours himself a glass of champagne, While playing Leonard Cohen's "First We take Manhattan". The office's door is opened, and Zachary sighs loudly.

ZACHARY:
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO DANIEL NIVY, 2009

I thought that I've made myself clear about bothering me on my private time. Do I have to send someone else to the incinerator?
