                                    PUBLIC NOTICE
                Controls over the Distribution of Free Printed Matter

Notice is hereby given that Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, acting as the Principal
Litter Authority, intend to designate land, by order, to which controls over the distribution of
free printed matter, pursuant to section 94B and schedule 3A of the Environmental
Protection Act 1990 as inserted by section 23 of the Clean Neighbourhoods and
Environment Act 2005, will apply.

The effect of the order will be to make it an offence for a person to distribute any free printed
matter without the consent of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council within certain
designated land in Solihull Town Centre. That designated land is:

 Public Highway                               Public Car Parks

 Alderwood Place                              Church Hill (Pay & Display) Car Park
 Church Hill Road                             Council House (Pay & Display) Car Park
 Drury Lane                                   Dominion Court (Pay & Display) Car Park
 George Road                                  Lode Lane (Multi Storey) Car Park
 Herbert Road                                 Marks & Spencer (Multi Storey) Car Park
 High Street                                  Mell Square (Multi Storey) Car Park
 Homer Road                                   Monkspath Hall (Pay & Display) Car Park
 Lode Lane
 Malvern Park Avenue
 Manor Walk
 Manor Square
 Mell Square
 New Road
 Poplar Road
 Princes Way
 Station Road
 Warwick Road
 Whitefields Crescent
 Whitefields Road
 Widney Manor Road


Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council intends the order to come into force on the 3rd January
2007.

Guidance notes and a map showing the designated land is available for inspection without
charge at Solihull Connect, within Solihull Central Library and Arts Complex, Library Square,
Touchwood, Solihull from 8.30am to 5.30p Mondays, 9am (10am on Wednesdays) to
5.30pm Tuesdays to Fridays and 9am to 1pm Saturdays until 20th November 2006.

Any objections to the proposed order, or representation as to whether or not the order
should be made, should be submitted by 10th November 2006, to:
