Assistant Principal

Thank you for requesting details for the post of Assistant Principal at RSA Academy Arrow Vale. As the
Redditch RSA Academies Trust, we are a member of the RSA Family of Academies. Arrow Vale is a 13-19
comprehensive school with approximately 650 students currently on roll.

If successful in an application you will be joining the school at an exciting time. The school has been
through significant changes in recent years and through the commitment and energy of staff and students,
the school has doubled its GCSE results in 3 years (at 5 A*-C including English and Maths) and is above
national average. Progress is exceptional, with student progress in English and Maths being in the top 5%
of schools nationally in 2012. At Level 3/A Level our students gained the second highest average point
score per subject of all providers in Worcestershire.

I would urge you to visit the school if you are able. You will find a happy, orderly school with friendly and
confident young people. It will give you an opportunity to talk to them, and to all members of our
community. There is, however, no formal requirement to visit prior to application, as I am aware it is not
always easy to do so.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and talented school leader and teacher. We believe
very much that potential is at least as important as experience. The successful applicant will play a major
role in leading the next stages of improvement at our school. We are seeking someone with drive and
ambition to complement the skill-set of the leadership team at Arrow Vale. The post is a new one and we
will seek to blend the expertise and interests of the individual appointed with the needs of the school. The
leadership responsibilities of the leadership team will be re-drawn as a result of this appointment for
January 2013. This is an exciting opportunity for a successful, experienced professional with Middle
Leadership experience. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in raising standards and
supporting student achievement.
