					JINDAL APPOINTS WOODY OGE TO LCTCS BOARD OF SUPERVISORS



                            On Friday, July 11, 2008, Governor Bobby Jindal announced
                            appointments to the Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges
                            (LCTCS) Board of Supervisors.

                            The first appointment was Woody Oge, director of business affairs
                            for Northrop Grumman Ship Construction. Oge has a Louisiana
                            contractor’s license in both legal and program management and is
                            on the Foundation Board of Delgado Community College. He will
                                                                st
                            serve as a representative of the 1 Congressional district, as
                            required by statute.

                            Jindal also appointed John S. Turner, owner and co-founder of
                            Dimension Development Co., to serve as a representative of the 7th
                            Congressional District.

LCTCS Board of Supervisors serves to supervise and manage the public institutions of higher
education assigned to its jurisdiction as well as the public institutions which exclusively or
predominantly provide programs of vocational-technical education.

According to statute, the board is comprised of seventeen gubernatorial appointments, which are
subject to senate confirmation. One member must be appointed from three nominations by the
Louisiana AFL-CIO, one member must be appointed from three nominations by the Louisiana
Association of Business and Industry, two members must be appointed from six nominations by
the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. The board must also have two student
members that are selected by the membership of a council composed of the student body
presidents of the community colleges under the management and supervision of the board, and
one student member must be selected by the membership of a council composed of the student
body presidents of the vocational-technical schools under the management and supervision of
the board. At least two of the members appointed by the governor must have significant
experience in vocational education. Of the members appointed by the governor, there must be
two members from each congressional district and the remaining members will serve as at-large
