							The Vice President (Communications and Campaigns) a. Shall be a full‐time paid trustee of the
Students' Union.
b. Shall, as required by charity law, comply with all legal trustee requirements, and shall be held
financially responsible for his/her year in office for a period of seven years after his/her year in
office.
c. Shall be required to give a period of one month’s handover to his/her successor.
d. Shall be a member of the Board of Trustees of which shall undertake at least one meeting a
term associated with individual and group action points relating to Students’ Union development
and strategic planning.
e. Shall be empowered to administer membership disciplinary action as set out in Regulation F of
the Constitution.
f. Shall, in conjunction with the Communications Officer and Marketing Coordinator, coordinate
all Students' Union publicity production and distribution, and have overall responsibility for the
Students’ Union’s Marketing and Publicity Strategy.
g. Shall have overall responsibility for the production and distribution of the Students' Union
Guidebook, Students’ Union Membership Cards, Wall Planner and any other centrally produced
material.
h. Shall be Editor‐in‐Chief of the Students’ Union Publication(s) and shall check each issue and be
responsible for legalities in advance of the print deadline.
i. Shall be Editor‐in‐Chief of the Students' Union Radio Station, and the Students’ Union website
in the case of legalities.
j. Shall oversee all advertising, licensing, printing and distribution associated with the Students'
Union’s Publication Board, the Students' Union’s Radio Station Board and the Students’ Union’s
website.
k. Shall sign and update the SURHUL Student Media Operating Agreement prior to publication of
media content, along with the Radio Station Manager and Publication Editor.
l. Shall, in conjunction with the Campaigns Officer, be responsible for the overall organisation of
Students’ Union Campaigns, and shall, in conjunction with the Communications Officer be
responsible for the provision of all publicity relating to Students’ Union Campaigns.
m. Shall work alongside the Vice President (Education and Welfare) on campaigns relating to
welfare and academic issues and the Students’ Union’s involvement in the annual National
Student Survey Campaign.n. Shall, in conjunction with the Ethics and Environmental Officer,
ensure that the Students’ Union is constantly aware of its environmental and ethical
responsibilities and is as environmentally and ethically efficient as possible.
o. Shall assist the President and Student Development and Volunteering Officer, in the
promotion of the Students’ Union in the local community.
p. Shall co‐arrange Freshers’ Fayre with the Vice President (Student Activities), in particular
regarding provision for external companies.
q. Shall be responsible for liaising with external bodies such as the National Union of Students,
University of London Union and other such organisations on matters pursuant to press, public
relations, communications and the environment (i.e. accreditation schemes).
r. Shall be a non‐voting member of the Editorial Board of the Students’ Union Publication and the
Editorial Board of the Students’ Union Radio Station Production Board.
s. Shall sit on the Senior Management Team for both Operations and Development.
t. Shall sit on the Executive Committee, Inclusion and Representation Senate, Academic Affairs
Senate, Finance and Services Sub Committee, Campaigns Sub Committee, Media and
Communications Sub Committee, Ethics and Environmental Sub Committee, Entertainments Sub
Committee and General Meeting.
u. At College, shall sit on a number of committees, including but not limited to, 5+5, Academic
Board, National Student Survey Campaign Team, RCS Budget Group, Student Communications
Group and shall be an observer at Bars and Entertainments Monitoring Group.
v. Shall undertake other duties and responsibilities that may arise as agreed with the Board of
Trustees.
