Chari Magnan commenting on the Lithuanian Specialty Show.
First of all I’d like to thank you for a great show, organization and sportsmanship. As for
overall quality of dogs, I was positively surprised. My remarks mainly relate to pems, as the
entry of cardis was much smaller, and – as I was later informed – most of them were actually
not bred in Lithuania.
Good points of pems presented to me were toplines – very strong and even – and general
soundness. Most dogs were of correct size and well balanced, and also expression and eye
color was correct.
And the weaker side I’d like to mention small ears, which could be seen in some dogs, and
generally to narrow heads, usually seen together with long and narrow muzzle. In some cases
weak temperament resulted in lower grade with otherwise nice dogs.
As for presentation, I’d like to see feet neatened, as long coat between the pads and long
nails badly spoil the shape of feet.
To sum, recalling what I remember from the earlier shows in Poland, I feel that your breeding
has been going in right direction, and please keep up with good work. Best wishes!
