Now… why on earth would I tell you to stop selling?
Tiz simple.
People hate to be sold.
Now don’t get me wrong, we ALL love to buy – but we hate to be sold.
When you look at your home business in a new light, and structure it in a way that gives people what they
“already want”, that my friend is when the cash floodgates will open.
And let me assure you, they’re gonna open WIDE.
Here’s a prime example:
About 2 months ago, I did a quick little survey, and found that many of my subscribers and prospects were
extremely interested in discovering how to make money with affiliate marketing.
So what do I do?
I responded to you, by giving you what you wanted.
Hence, last month’s Thompson Twist Seminar-By-Phone.
I hosted this one-time event and gave each of the participants a TON of information on affiliate marketing, and
then I gave you the opportunity to join me for a series of “live” in-depth training sessions on this very topic.
And that’s not all.
I also made it a no-brainer decision for you, by agreeing to give you a complete copy of the entire home study
course when it’s finished… for FREE!
But wait, cause there’s still more.
Paul Peters spoke up on the teleseminar, and announced that he’d be jumping at the opportunity. He then asked

Find out what people want – then give it to them.
How do you find out what they want?
Easy!
You ask them. For a great example of how to do this, use the link on Page 2 and listen to the recording.
By asking people what they want, then giving it to them, your business will flourish. There’s no way that you
can go wrong when you follow this model.
Most business owners NEVER get this.
They’re continually trying to sell more of their products and services, yet they fail to ask their prospects and
clients what they want. If they did, their financial challenges would be a thing of the past.
Alright…
Now it’s time to move on to some more great marketing strategies.
As you know, it’s that time of year again, when taxes are on everyone’s mind.
In fact, as you read this, we’re currently nearing the end of the tax season, and let me assure you – those who
haven’t yet dealt with their taxes are in a full blown hyper-responsive state at the moment.
Many of them have procrastinated (just like they do every year), and now they’re scrambling, trying to get
everything together by the impending deadline on April 15th.
Some of these folks will be doing their own taxes, probably using one of those software programs in an effort to
make life easier on themselves.
Some of these folks will be using an accounting firm, such as H&R Block.
But – either way, every one of these folks are currently in somewhat of a state of panic, as TAX day continues
to creep up on them.
And rest assured…
Anything that arrives in their email box or their physical mail box that looks even remotely official is gonna get
their attention.
Even those of us who are on top of things, and already have our taxes in order for the year, would not be
immune to such a document.
Myself included.
Take a look at the example on the next page. It’s a letter that arrived in my own mailbox on March 12th.

Now let me ask you…
Do you think this piece of mail got my attention?
You Bet It Did!
At the time I received this letter, I had already finished preparing all of my tax documents and had sent
everything to my accountant.
As I was thumbing through the mail, I see this letter, and my immediate response was, “Oh Great, it looks like I
have one more document that I need to get to my accountant so he can do my taxes”.
So what do I do?
I immediately ripped it open to see what was inside.

Imagine my surprise when I find this:

As you can see, it was a solicitation from a finance company, wanting me to refinance my home with them.
I’d Been Duped!
Now here’s what’s interesting about this:
I’ve been a serious student of direct response and internet marketing for more than 7 years now.
As a result, I can usually spot marketing materials in my mail box from a mile away.
But not this time.
So… why did I miss it this time?
The answer is simple.
Because it’s tax time, I was in a hyper responsive state to anything that had to do with getting my taxes
completed by April 15th.
And let me tell you, everyone else in the country is in the same exact position at the moment, and they’ll remain
in this state of hyper responsiveness until tax time is over.
Heck – this marketing strategy would work well – even after April 15th.
My guess is that it would probably work even better.
If you were to receive a letter like this after the April 15th deadline, you’d probably be a little bit alarmed, which
would cause you to give this piece of mail your immediate attention.
Rest assured, NOBODY will be throwing a piece of mail like this in the garbage, until AFTER it’s been opened.
At this point, you might be wondering…
“Kevin, you’re an internet marketing guy, aren’t you? So why in the heck are you showing me marketing
strategies like this one? After all, this doesn’t have anything to do with the internet”.
And yes, you’re right.
It doesn’t have anything to do with the internet.
But…
It has EVERYTHING to do with YOU, and YOUR business.

As you know, when it comes to advertising, most people consider it to be a cost.
But it’s NOT!
Advertising is an investment. And when you advertise, you expect to get a return on that investment.
In fact, I invest about $300 a month on advertising for my Get Mold Solutions.com, and that investment gives
me a return of $7,000.00 to $10,000.00 a month in sales.
My best month ever was $17,678.71.
As you can see, I would gladly invest more in this project if I had the opportunity.
Only problem is, there aren’t really a whole lot of places for me to invest in other advertising mediums for my
Get Mold Solutions.com project.
It’s not like I can just go out and get a mailing list of people who have a mold problem. I pretty much have to
find them when they come to the internet, looking for what I have to offer.
So…
Here’s the deal:
The reason I teach you to get started on the internet, is because it’s the cheapest, most cost effective way to get
started – and do it on a shoestring budget.
But – once you’re making money on the internet, there’s NO reason to limit yourself to this medium alone.
Once you’re making money online, your goal is then to find as many places as possible that you can invest in
advertising, and get a positive return on your investment.
For example:
Just like I teach you to do – I began doing advertising for the Automatic Income System on the internet.
But…
I didn’t stop there.
Now that I was getting a good return on my internet advertising, I began looking for other ways to let people
know about my products and services.
I now rent mailing lists and send postcards to people who are most likely to be interested in what I have to offer
(see the example on the next page).
This too is working very well, and now I am once again on the hunt for even more places that I can advertise.

Sure, I could stick to just the internet if I wanted, and I’d still make a whole lot of money.
But the truth is, I have some really BIG financial goals for this year, and that means that I’m going to do
everything I can to exceed those goals.
So, the lesson here is this:
Always be on the lookout for successful marketing examples that you can apply to your business.
And make no mistake, you’ll find a ton of great, direct response marketing examples in your mailbox. Just like
the one I shared with you this month.
Look at this example and ask yourself, “How can I use this in my own business”?
As I write this, I’m currently contemplating an email campaign for my subscribers, all hinging on tax time, and
the April 15th deadline.

year, I was failing miserably - almost to the point of giving up on all my dreams, goals and aspirations.

I came across a guy by the name of Joe Polish, and he helped me transform my business into one of the most
successful, by-referral-only companies in the Seattle area.
As you can imagine, Joe and I have become VERY good friends over the years, and though I sold my cleaning
and restoration business on April 19, 2004 – Joe and I continue to stay in regular contact to this day.
Joe has helped thousands and thousands of business owners in the cleaning and restoration industry, just like he
did for me.
And though he’s very well known in this particular industry, the average guy on the street isn’t going to have a
clue who in the heck Joe Polish is.
But, that doesn’t stop Joe from continually finding ways that he can have a positive impact on even MORE

Notice the testimonial from Brian Tracy that’s right in the forefront of this advertisement. Talk about smart.
Brian is one of the most well-known motivational speakers on the planet, and Joe has brilliantly aligned himself
with Brian.
