Create a Movie Poster
You are to design your own movie poster to advertise the movie version of your book.
This project should be on poster board (minimum size: 8 ½” x 14”) and have a
picture that is relevant to the story. You must draw your picture. Try your
This project will have a Jane Schaffer paragraph (2 chunk paragraph) answering
the following question: What attribute or characteristic of the main character
makes the character intriguing in the story? (on the front of the movie poster)
In addition, include the rating of the film (G, PG or PG-13), 2 reviews (for
example, “Two thumbs way up! -Bob Smith, Courier Post), the director, and the
two main characters with actors playing the roles.
o When choosing the actors for your film, you need to choose current actors
to play the parts of two main characters (protagonist and antagonist). Your
decisions for the actor’s roles must be well thought out and explained in
writing (a paragraph each on the front of the movie poster) why the actor
you chose is best for that part. Think of past roles the actor may have
played. In addition, choose a director for the film.
Your poster should also contain a slogan for the ad campaign for the film.

“2 Chunk” BODY PARAGRAPH
A body paragraph is formatted in the following way and should be about 100 words in length:
TOPIC SENTENCE-a subtopic of your thesis
CONCRETE DETAIL-a fact, an example from the story that supports your subtopic
COMMENTARY #1 commentary from you that explains the concrete detail
COMMENTARY #2 further commentary explaining why your quote is important
CONCLUDING SENTENCE-refers back to your topic sentence and thesis…restates what
you first said in a different way.
