                                  Training for trainers---Introduction to
                                     Common Core State Standards
                                               April 3, 2012
                                              Grades 6-12
The primary and supplemental Power Points used in the training today will be sent to all principals. It
may be useful in trainings with staff, primarily for information on ELA common core standards.

This first link is a general introductory overview of the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The
video is three minutes long.

addition to the common core standards, the “Crosswalk” documents which line up the old standards
with the new ones and show similarities and differences.

There is a three year DRAFT CCSS implementation plan that is currently in draft form and we are working
to get it and other things related to the common core posted on the district web page. Please watch for
an announcement soon that the plan has been posted. Please encourage all teachers to review the plan
and send feedback to Jane Golden at jgolden@pleasanton.k12.ca.us.
