You are Cordially Invited to the Not So Virtual Chat:
A Modern Philosopher’s Tea…
When: Tuesday, January 24th
Where: Social Studies Class
What: You will be assigned a role as a Confucian, Legalist, or Daoist
scholar so you can discuss philosophical issues over drinks and snacks.
You will meet your fellow philosophers by being able to view their
“Philosopher Flier”, and then meet them face to face. This is a graded
discussion where you will circulate the room and act as a true
philosopher would. Remember, you’re not a 6th grade student anymore,
but a worldly scholar who is ready to discuss deep issues! That means
you will research how these philosophies view government and life in
general by using your textbook and readings from class.
Feel free to bring in snacks and a drink and be ready to ponder the ways
of the world!

I tend to think the worst of people and feel that the strictest government is the best since people are
basically like animals. I like doing things my own way and every thing should have its place. I’m very
basic and I don’t like people who are into “extra stuff.” Just give me a place to sleep and some food to
eat and I’m happy.
