Posted: March 20, 2012 The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is offering a scholarship in the minimum amount of $500 per semester for up to four years a total of $4,000. This scholarship is available to senior African-American males interested in pursuing a higher education. Eligible students must have a GPA of 2.8 or above. An essay is required as part of the application. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline to apply is April 2, 2012. Posted: March 21, 2012 The Fayette County School Nutrition Association is sponsoring the Judy Hale Student Scholarship. The scholarship amount is $500 and is open to seniors who have been accepted to a Kentucky college/university or vocational school for the fall of 2012. Eligible students must demonstrate academic achievement, participate in the school lunch program and submit a short story telling of memories you may recall about cafeteria staff or school meals. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline to apply is April 20, 2012. Posted March 21, 2012 The Bill Ferzacca Scholarship fund has been created as an effort to assist those trying to escape poverty as well as helping the Head Start Children served by the Community Action Council. The applicant may receive up to $2,500 a year. The recipient must intend to attain a BA in a field related to Early Childhood Education, be a resident of Fayette County, preference will be given to students who have a 3.0 GPA or higher, exhibit financial need and priority will be given to Head Start Parents. The application is available on the Council’s Web site at www.commaction.org. The deadline to apply is April 16, 2012.
