Choice College Consultants Ph: 65 6465 4086 Sangeeta Rajgopal, MBA Co-Founder and Director Personal Statement: Having spent the last 25 years in various profit and non-profit organisations in the US and Singapore, I know there is one thing I have had a passion for; to mentor, guide, and help young people develop to maximize their potential. Serving on various committees and boards in youth development, I realize that it truly does take a community to raise a child. With the experience of growing up in the US along with being educated there, I have a lot of knowledge to share with young people in helping them ‘make their educational and career choices possible’. As the co-founder of this boutique firm, Choice College Consultants, our philosophy is to provide affordable consulting services to help guide international students who want to attend US colleges. Brief Bio: Sangeeta Rajgopal has a BA from Tufts University and an MBA from the McCombs School of Management, University of Texas at Austin. She has worked at several Fortune 500 companies including Coca-Cola Fountain, USA; Nabisco, USA; and Frito-Lay, USA. Additionally, she has lived in Singapore for the last 16 years working in the areas of communications training and marketing consulting. As part of her community service involvement she has served on the Boards of The Society for Reading & Literacy, American Women’s Association, and served as Vice-President for the Indian Women’s Association. She has also co-chaired the Youth Committee at the American Club. For the last several years, she has worked at the Asian Women’s Welfare Association building the first National Centre for Caregivers in Southeast Asia. She comes from a family of US based educators with parents who are professors, a brother who is a surgeon and professor, and a sister who is a principal of an inner-city school. She currently has two children attending an international school in Singapore and is living through the process of applying to US colleges with her oldest child. She is in the process of finishing her certification as an Independent Educational Consultant at University of California, Irvine to ‘qualify’ her to advise students who are applying to US universities. Kira Skill Co-Founder and Director Personal Statement: I have spent the last 10 years building Chinese immersion programs for kids who have a passion for the language and want to increase their fluency. Through this process of educating all 3 of my kids in speaking fluent Chinese, I have learned the only way to excel in speaking is to immerse yourself in the culture. This experience led me to build our own Chinese Camp for middle and high school students. Additionally, having gone through the process of applying to US colleges with my two older children, I found their fluency in Chinese to be an asset. Through my journey of helping them apply to college, I have visited over 40 US colleges/universities and found that ‘fit’ is important when applying. My experience has been with helping student’s build their story to highlight their assets to ‘make their college choices possible’.
