Minutes of Regular Meeting

The regular meeting was called to order at 6:24 p.m., by the chair, the secretary being present. A quorum was present.
The meeting minutes from the April meeting with minor corrections and May minutes were approved.
Excellence award was presented to the entire Leadership Team & David Manalan for 2009/2010.
Review of the proceedings from WCQI given by Jim Shore which will be used for the planning process for 2010/2011. The
2011 WCQI conference will be in Pittsburgh, PA and should be something we look at having all Executive Members
QMP Update: We have to date met all of the goals to date to reach a level 2 recognition.
BOSCON 2011: We have 60% of attendees who think moving to 2 days is a good idea, April 11 & 12. Annie Luttman
compiled all the survey information and sent out the comments.
Education: Green belt course is completed with 43 students at $600 per student at ADI. ASQ uses recertification units
which are calculated at 0.1 per hour of training. Help will be needed for Pharma and Medical Devices.
Partnership with MassExcellence on the 23 June to move beyond regular compliance. Intertek 29 & 30 June for Medical
compliance in a box.
CBA training session partnering with the Biomedical Division to offer the training next year in Boston with a target of $500
per student over 3 days.
Outreach: Look to have 4 events this year and have them planned in advance and allow for people to get involved at the
beginning of the year and promote them and allow people to sign up in advance to attend the events. ASQ Headquarters
has books available for free where we only need to pay shipping and handling charges.
Membership: April 2010 trends were reviewed based on the certifications and membership type. We are getting on
average of 21.3 new members to the Boston section. Currently down 5% percent from where we were last year.
Programs: Harpoon is 24 June. Speakers are lined up for Sep & Oct.
Certification Exams: There will be 34 students and will be held on the 05 June 10 at the DoubleTree in Waltham.
Communications: The login information is the first part of the e-mail address for each chair. The password is
ASQBoston! for each account. The e-mail list will be moved to a plug-in managed through our website. Nina will be
contacted to add the information to the site and will cost approximately $300 to make this change.

Motion made to extend the George Mason scholarship date for applications from 31 May 2010 to 15 Jul 2010. Seconded
by Peter Ashe. Motion carried.
Unfinished Business from May Meeting: Recertification chair determination – Gil will take on this role for the 2010/2011
year. Time for working sessions to work on the QMP for 2010/2011 will start July 13.
Next LT meeting will be held on the 13 Jul 10 at 6pm at TBD. Motion to adjourn by Jim Shore seconded by Arne
Greenbaum. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
