Last Minute Repairs

It happens all the time. You’re standing in line for a coaster and all of a sudden your forward
progress comes to a STOP. REPAIRS!! HOW LONG?

A. You have (5) minutes to prepare your roller-coaster for your presentation. If parts have
fallen off, or pieces need adjusted you will have ONLY (5) minutes and then anyone
working after time has been called will take a penalty reduction of 10 points.

**ALT – You have (10) minutes to complete your potential/kinetic energy graph. Newton’s
Laws application, written response. Summative Test (OR) “Rollercoaster Dynamics – Energy
and the Physical Laws that govern them”.
Homework:

(3) Steps to an “A” on your first BIG test. COPY them and USE them to ensure your first
summative test goes off without a hitch.

Step (1) – Prepare / Studying does not have to be painful. Using your time wisely is a talent
good students develop early on and practice every day. If you haven’t prepared it’s not too
late. Organize your notes tonight and focus on key vocabulary and concepts that we
discussed more than once.

Step (2) – Give your brain a chance / Proper sleep and nutrition has been shown to improve test
scores. A body that is rested and properly nourished leads to greater focus and improved test
scores. Get to bed at a reasonable hour, and eat something before you take the test.

Step (3) – Don’t sweat the small stuff. On every test there will be questions that make you feel
uncertain. Don’t FREAK-OUT, select the best/most logical answer based on your
understanding and move on.
