            How to deploy AreaRae Monitors


DO NOT START ANY OF THE MONITORS AT THIS POINT


  1) The laptop is the first unit that needs to be opened up and
     started. (DO NOT REMOVE ANYTHING FROM CASE. SYSTEM IS
     PER CONNECTED FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE)
        A) Find a power supply that will be able to supply the laptop.
        B) Start the laptop
        C) Press and hold the power button that is located on the Rae Link
           until it blinks green/red. The link will be left plugged in the
           Pelican Case. The link is already hooked up to the host
           computer.
        D) Locate the Antenna in a location that will allow an easy view of
           the area to be monitored. Verify that the antenna wire is
           attached to the top of the link. There is about 12ft of cable.

  2) Next, the Repeater needs to be turned on and located.
       A) Remove the power supply from the repeater, which is located in
          the large pelican (RDK kit) case. Attach the magnetic base
          antenna to the repeater.
       B) Press and hold the power button on the repeater until it also
          blinks green.
       C) The repeater needs to be located in an area that will allow it to
          communicate with the host computer.
       D) After the repeater is turned on, you must go back to the laptop
          and begin polling by pressing the F9 key or clicking on the icon
          which is located in the lower right hand corner.



        NOW It’s OK TO START THE MONITORS
3) Before you deploy the monitors.
      A) Attach the antenna to the top of the unit.
      B) Press and hold the “Mode” key for 1 second and release. Start
         up begins.
      C) Fresh air zero needs to be done.
              i. After warm up is complete press and hold the “N-” and
                 the “Mode” Key.
             ii. It will ask you for a password press and hold MODE until
                 it reads “Calibrate Monitor?” Press the “Y+” key, it will
                 ask you if you want to “Fresh Air Calibrate?” Press “Y+”
                 key. At this point it will fresh air calibrate the unit.
                 Watch to verify fresh air is complete. When it reads
                 “Multiple Sensor Calibration?” press the “Mode” key.
                 When the screen reads “Change Alarm Limits?” press the
                 “N-“key.
            iii. The next screen will be “Change Data Log” Press the “Y+”
                 key. It will ask if you want to “Clear all Data?” Press the
                 “Y+” key. It will say “Are You Sure?” press the “Y+” key.
                 It will then say “Data Cleared”.
            iv. After the data is cleared the units are ready to be
                 deployed. Press the “Mode” key 2 times and it will take
                 you out to the main screen.
      D) Make sure the radio button has a solid red light above it prior
         to deploying
4) Monitors are ready to be deployed.

5) Additional items that need to be done.
     A) Attach the tubing to the unit. There should be a parabolic filter
         that is always attached to the unit. This keeps the moisture out
         of the units.
When returning the units, plugs them in to recharge
                  the batteries.
