Job Title: PRN Hourly Peer Specialists Position numbers:
0-20 Hours a Week
SS: Client Support Worker
Salary: $9.00/Hourly Location of Position: Tift County
Description of Duties: Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) provides peer support services in community
settings in Tift county. This person serves as a consumer advocate; provides consumer information and
peer support to consumers in emergency, outpatient or inpatient settings. Performs a wide range of tasks
to assist consumers in regaining control over their own lives and over their recovery process. Function as
a role model of competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills. This position will require some “on
call” work and flexible hours including weekends and after hours as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in
advocacy or advisory or governance and one (1) continuous year as a current or former recipient of
treatment (including mental health/substance abuse treatment or diagnosis) and eligible for certification as
Peer Specialist by the Georgia Department of Human Resources. Must have a valid GA driver’s license.
Other Desired Qualifications: DHR Certified Peer Specialist
Pre-employment drug testing and fingerprint criminal background check required.
