Dow Corning’s Carrollton site supports future chemists, engineers, and technicians by providing scholarships to
local students pursuing college or vocational degrees.
Carroll Co., Ky., and Switzerland Co., Ind. students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in either chemistry or
engineering may apply for a $3000 college scholarship. Dow Corning will award up to one college scholarship
per high school each year to eligible seniors. To be eligible, students must have:
Completed pre-calculus or a higher level mathematics course
Completed chemistry, biology, and/or physics
A career interest in chemistry or engineering
Volunteer and/or part-time work experience
A high school senior should obtain a scholarship application (see next page) from his/her Guidance Counselor.
He/she should return the completed the application along with two letters of recommendation to his/her
Guidance Counselor by March 15.
School administrators should review the completed applications and notify Dow Corning with the name of the
scholarship recipient by May 1.
Eligible students may apply for a $1000 scholarship to Jefferson Community College after successfully
completing an Industrial Chemical Technology Internship at Dow Corning. The student should complete a
scholarship application (see next page) and return it to Dow Corning’s Human Resources Manager.
Students may also apply for a Renewable Technology Scholarship funded by Dow Corning by applying to the
Carroll Co. Training Consortium.
