            THE PARISH COUNCIL INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN A

                           MEETING TO CREATE A PARISH PLAN

                   The meeting will be at the Mevagissey Activity Centre on
                             Thursday 25th November at 19:00

With the introduction of the Unitary Authority, Cornwall Council, and the coalition
government promising more decision making being handed back to local communities it
is now considered very important to develop a local plan for Mevagissey to establish a
strategy to take the village into the future.

Although Parish Council led the plan MUST reflect the views and needs of the WHOLE
COMMUNITY. A steering committee from the community will have to be formed to
produce this plan. The plan should be the blueprint for all decision making for at least the
next 10 years covering subjects such as Affordable Housing, Employment, Fishing,
Tourism, Planning, Traffic, Environment, Amenities and any other subject important to
the people of Mevagissey Parish.

Although initially funded by the Parish Council grants will have to be obtained to produce
this plan. This is important for the future of Mevagissey and needs to cover the aspirations
of everyone, the Parish Council stresses this is not to be Council run it is for the
community to run and express their views and opinions for the future of the Village.

A public meeting will be arranged in early November to form the steering group. All
known groups within the village and all residents will be invited to this meeting, it is very
important that everyone’s views are heard so come and have your say.
