Listed below are the Math Standards that your child has learned during Trimester One.

Number Sense:
    Solving problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
    Locate numbers on a number line.
    Comparing and ordering positive and negative fractions, decimals, ratios,
     proportions, and percentages.
    Show an understanding and working with proportions.
    Find percentages in relation to sales, taxes, discounts, interest, and tips.
    Find and calculate the Least Common Multiple and Greatest Common Divisor.


Algebra & Functions:
    Writing and solving algebraic expressions and equations.
    Write and solve one-step linear equations.
    Explain how to multiply and divide fractions.


How can I help my student?
Below are some suggestions and tips that you can do at home with your child to
assist them with their math comprehension and skills:
    Drill basic math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
    Speak with your child’s teacher frequently about their progress.
    Provide a place for your child to work quietly on their school work.
    Review your child’s school work with them.
    Encourage your child to do his/her best work every day.
