							                    Scholarship Opportunity
The IEA-R Abe Lincoln Chapter of the Retired Teachers
Association, Unit 43, is offering two $500 scholarships for
students pursuing a career in public school teaching.

Application Deadline: August 1, 2009

Requirements:

       Must be a graduate of an IEA Region 11 or Region 47
       district high school* (or have been enrolled in a public
       school and whose parent or legal guardian has been
       employed by an IEA Region 11 or Region 47 high school
       for at least one year)

Application process:
  1. Complete background information sheet
  2. Complete essay (see background information sheet)
  3. Include one (1) letter of recommendation
  4. Provide proof of acceptance at a recognized college or
     university in a teacher preparation program (must be
     submitted before monetary awards are issued).

Send completed application packet by August 1, 2009, to

    Recipients will be notified mid-August.
